How Great Is God's Love for His Creation?

First, we need to acknowledge the fact that God created man in His image, before we proceed to the subject of His love for His creation.  God did not create puppets to mimic God's commands; He created individuals to think, choose, act and plan; He did not create unwilling servants.  With that premise, as well as the understanding that God knew when He created humans that they would disobey Him, we need to realize He also developed a plan for the redemption of man from his choice to sin against God, and He fashioned that plan before He created man.  I Peter 1:18-19 says, "You know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver and gold, or from your vain conversation (dealings) you learned from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish or spot, who was foreordained before the foundation of the world, who was manifest in these last days for you."  We see here that the plan of salvation, through the sacrifice of God's own Son for the redemption of our sins, was planned before the world was created.  Do you love your children enough to lay down your own life for them?  I know I do.  God said in Isaiah 55:9, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."  If our love for our children is so immense that we would lay down our lives for them, why would we not believe the Creator of our love holds a much greater love in His heart for His children than we can even realize?  At times, depending on the circumstances, our love can wane and even fail.  Nevertheless, God's love for us is so great that He inspired these words by His apostle, "I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height nor depth, not any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8:38-39.

God is holy and His commandment is that His creation live holy:  "I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you will therefore be holy, because I am holy" Leviticus 11:45.  He also said, "All souls are Mine; the soul of the father and the soul of the son are Mine: the soul that sins will die" Ezekiel 18:4.  Death was the punishment pronounced on the soul that sins, but because the Lord loves us so much, He gave His Son to take the punishment for our sins, so that we could live with Him forever.

"God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16

Do you know how to love your children?  God is the epitome of that love.
