SODOM AND GOMORRAH - AGAIN AND AGAIN

People scoff at the Holy Word of God. Moses crossing the Red Sea with the Israelites? Elijah caught up into heaven in a fiery chariot? Jesus walking on water? Most people simply don’t believe it today.

The Holy Word of God tells us that God gave Solomon wisdom, which no one else on earth surpassed. Solomon wrote,

“The thing that has been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing under the sun” Ecclesiastes 1:9.

There were two ancient cities, Sodom and Gomorrah, which God destroyed because of the homosexual sins committed in those cities. Their prominent sin was named after the City of Sodom.

Most people might not believe the events that occurred in Sodom and Gomorrah, the fact that God sent fire and brimstone down from heaven to destroy the cities because their sins were so great. Not only was sodomy brazenly rampant throughout the cities, but strangers who passed through were raped and the crimes committed there went unpunished, according to ancient history, because the cities’ inhabitants were so desperately evil.

Most people probably don’t consider the fact that there is yet another “Sodom” in history, which God destroyed with fire and brimstone because of the great sins of the people. The name of that city is Pompeii.

When the City of Pompeii was first excavated, the Vatican closed the city from public view because of the shocking discoveries made. The city was overtaken in prostitution and homosexuality, even the streetlights were crafted into the shapes of sexual organs and sex organs were carved right into the cobblestone streets.

At least 41 brothels have since been excavated, not counting the many bars, which generally housed prostitutes. Sexually explicit statues were placed everywhere and even carved into the city walls and tableware. 

Prostitution was legal and so blatant throughout Pompeii that the citizens were forced to pay taxes for prostitution and prostitutes were required to register with the government.

Pompeii was a city of only about 6,000 residents, but the number of bathhouses, brothels and amphitheaters for sexual purposes was extremely great. It is said that pornography was painted throughout most homes and even the government housed male and female prostitutes.  The city was obviously overtaken, as was Sodom and Gomorrah, with sexual deviance and promiscuity at an astonishing level.

As in the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah, Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, covering Pompeii and its horrendous corruption with 13 to 20 feet of ash and pumice. Ironically, this destruction occurred only nine years after the Romans invaded and destroyed God’s Holy City, Jerusalem.

Today, American public schools have begun teaching 10-year-olds sodomy; yes, step-by-step, how to commit homosexual sex acts, as part of their sex “education” curriculum (please visit the Home Education page for the salvation of your children).

In 2011, the US Senate voted 93-7 to repeal Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which means sodomy and bestiality were legalized. Since our troops are fighting in Muslim nations, and since Muslims regularly engage in these despicable activities, and since Barack Hussein Obama defends Muslims at every angle, these acts were actually legalized here in the United States. Since our good men have complained about this administration’s insistence that they do absolutely nothing against brute men who molest and sodomize young boys in Afghanistan, it seems Obama figured he should legalize these atrocities to shut them up.

Oh, and by the way, Obama pushed for kindergartners to receive sex education, which has commenced!

The homosexual and sexually deviant tyrants running this nation have also legalized same sex marriage – and on and on it goes...

The Lord is very merciful. He made a promise to Abraham that He would not destroy Sodom if 10 righteous people were found in the city. He gave Rome nine years to repent after the destruction of Jerusalem, before Pompeii was blasted into hell fire.

Not even 10 righteous people were found in Sodom, and apparently there was no repentance to be found in Pompeii.

God’s judgment is hardly finished. Sodom and Gomorrah and Pompeii will be repeated on a global scale, according to God’s Holy Word.

Don’t believe it? I suppose Pompeii didn’t believe the story of Sodom and Gomorrah either.

The Word of God tells us that at the end of time, as we know it, the earth will be burned to a crisp:

“The Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, during which time the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat and the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up” 2 Peter 3:10.

This judgment has not befallen the earth yet.

The good news is there is still time to repent and invite Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to be Lord and Savior of your life. The best news is that a new heaven and earth will come down from God (Revelation 21) and the saints of God will live for eternity with Him on the new earth; we will even be with our families who are saved, and we will know one another, as we are known here on earth (1 Corinthians 13:12)! What a blessed promise to look forward to!
