"End to Medicare As We Know It" Already in the Works

FoxNews.com by Jim Angle (excerpts): Even before the Super Committee convened - and failed to find a formula for reforming entitlements, Democrats wielded a familiar refrain to reject any Republican effort to save Medicare by offering competition. "Put simply, it ends Medicare as we know it," President Obama said earlier this year about GOP proposals. Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, D-Nev, also blasted Republican plans and employed the same "end Medicare as we know it" phrase, before going on to say it would subject seniors to the rising costs of health care.
Obama himself sharply limits Medicare spending and Democrats actually voted for it in the new health care law, fundamentally altering the program "as we know it," say analysts. "President Obama ended it as we know it," said James Capretta of the Ethics and Public Policy Center. The only thing I don't think the public really understands is that the health care law has already capped Medicare spending and President Obama was the proponent of that cap."
In the new health care law, Medicare is slashed by $500 billion and growth in Medicare spending is capped to just 1% over growth in the overall economy. In an 80-page message addressed to the Super Committee, Obama proposed another $250 billion in Medicare cuts, along with lowering the limit on Medicare spending to gross domestic product plus 0.5%. He would cap spending at the lower number by reducing reimbursements. Since Medicare grows 2 or 3 points more than GDP plus inflation, or at around 7-9% annually, seniors lose ground every year. "Any time we have an arbitrary cap that is not reachable, where benefits could be harmed, we would be opposed said David Sertner, policy director for the American Association of Retired Persons. "If there is a cost that goes above the cap, we are going to be stopping care for that year and in essence this leads to rationing of care," Certner said; "so we can't have arbitrary caps in the Medicare program."
When doctors, surgeons or those who make hip or knee replacements are simply told they will be paid significantly less, what will they do? Capretta said he fears the worst. "Eventually some of the providers of those services will drop out of the market and there will be issues in terms of accessing care," he said. "That's what the Medicare actuary has already predicted will occur under the health care law." Medical groups said they expect a shortage of some 90,000 doctors by the end of this decade, as 30 million baby boomers have begun to retire, making access to care even tighter.
Commentary: Most seniors can hardly tolerate an increase in medical costs, or anything else for that matter. Ten percent of all seniors 65+ live under the poverty level in the US. The median income of seniors is now $11,208, and 30% of all seniors 80+ had incomes of less than 150% of the poverty level (ncpssm.org). The rationing of medical services is nothing new in socialist-communist governments and we are headed right down that "alley." The elderly and poor who are sick die for lack of care under those circumstances, but do you think the elitist liberals care? Obama and members of Congress are exempted from the new health care plan; only their staff are subjected to it.
Twenty-five or thirty years ago, could you have ever imagined our great nation, the superpower of all nations throughout the world, bankrupt? It is now. Other nations make fun of America today; it is shameful, especially so because our forefathers and our nation's children even today spill their blood for our freedom in the US. The radical liberals in office, especially the Obama administration, are bringing this nation rapidly towards a socialist government that is going to enslave its citizens.
When physicians leave the profession in great numbers and funding is cut for those dependent on government medical programs, will the government let people die without treatment or medication? I'm certain they will. In the not so distant future, peoples heads are going to be cut off for not accepting a mark in their hand or in their foreheads in order to exist economically. Does this sound outrageous to you? Peoples heads are being severed all over the Middle East on a regular basis right now. Are you aware of the holocaust? Similar tribulation will be endured here, whether you believe it or not. The Word of God says it will happen, "...I saw the souls of those who were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, who had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither received his mark on their foreheads or in their hands..." Revelation 20:4. God's people will not be here, because God has promised to deliver His people from the wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10). Are you aware that all of those who participate in the health care program will be required to have an RFID chip implanted for "medical security" purposes? It is written into the health care bill, and that's just the beginning.
