A major 6.0 earthquake hit the South Sandwich Island region on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at 05:53:41 UTC, at a depth of 9.8 km (6.1 mi).  This is the fourth major (>5.9) quake to hit in the last eight days.  Jesus said that before His return, these signs will be prevalent, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  The graph below shows how much of a drastic increase in quakes we have experienced in only the last year.
