A major 6.1 earthquake hit Vanuatu on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at 00:15:40 UTC, at a depth of 163.4 km (101.5 mi).  This is the fourth major (>5.9) earthquake to hit within the last six days. 

Jesus said there would be earthquakes in various places before His return, along with famines and pestilences, which is exactly what we are seeing in various parts of the world today.  "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  The graph below shows the drastic increase in earthquakes only in the last year:
