Japan Meteorological Agency:  A major 6.2 earthquake hit Hokkaido, Japan on 10/21/11 at 17:03 JST at a depth of 190 km (117 mi).  USGS declares this quake to be a 5.8 magnitude (they are often late revising their magnitudes).  

Commentary:  "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  There have been two major earthquakes in the last four days.  According to the graph located within several articles under the "Earthquakes tag," major quakes are on an alarming rise.
