A major 6.2 earthquake hit the New Britain region, Papua New Guinea on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 21:13:11 UTC, at a depth of 47.8 km (29.7 mi).  This is the fourth major (> 5.9) earthquake to hit in the last week, three of which hit on March 14. 

Jesus said these signs would appear before He returns, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  You may have noticed that the frequent major earthquakes throughout the world are hitting various places.  This is exactly what Jesus said would happen.  The graph below shows the drastic increase in earthquake activity between 2010 and 2011 (look closely at the 2011 increase on the graph near the border).
