A major 6.2 earthquake hit just offshore Bio-Bio, Chile on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 16:04:54 UTC, at a depth of 29.7 km (18.5 mi).  This is the third major (>5.9) earthquake to hit in the last three days.  Jesus said that before His return there would be earthquakes in various places, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  The graph below demonstrates the drastic increase in earthquakes over the past year:
