A major 6.3 earthquake hit Sulawesi, Indonesia on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 09:41:54 UTC, at a depth of 19:9 km (12.4 mi).  Three major (>6.2) earthquakes have hit in the last six days. 

Twenty-three homes were damaged and five injuries have been reported due to falling debris, as the quake rocked villages in Sulawesi. 

Jesus said these signs would appear before He returns, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7. 

The graph below shows the drastic increase in earthquake activity between 2010 and 2011 (look closely at the 2011 increase on the graph near the border).  Since 2011, the stats continue to soar, especially for "great" earthquakes.
