A major 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit near the north coast of Papua, Indonesia on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 01:16:52 UTC, at a depth of 16 km (9.9 mi).  This is the seventh major (> 5.9) earthquake to hit throughout the world in the last six days! 

Throughout history, there have never been as many major earthquakes with such frequency on record, as we see happening within the last year and the stats continue to climb astronomically since last week.  This is an incredible barrage of major, major earthquake activity, like nothing ever seen before on record.  Two over 8.0 magnitude quakes hit Sumatra and one 6.9 hit the Gulf of California within a 24 hour time period last week.   A tsunami was triggered with the Sumatra quake, but did not hit shore.

The mainstream news media are not publishing the frequency of these major earthquakes.  They are announcing the earthquakes individually, but they are not announcing the frequency of these major quakes, which is equally, or more newsworthy than the individual quakes.

Jesus said these signs would appear before He returns, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  You may have noticed that the frequent major earthquakes throughout the world are hitting various places.  This is exactly what Jesus said would happen.  The graph below shows the drastic increase in earthquake activity between 2010 and 2011 (look closely at the 2011 increase on the graph near the right border, as opposed to the level of earthquakes recorded in 2010 and prior).
