A major 6.7 earthquake hit southwestern Siberia, Russia on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 06:17:19 UTC, at a depth of 11.7 km (7.3 mi).  A false messiah by the name of Vissarion lives near the border of southwestern Siberia in Krasnoyarsk (en.wikipedia.org).  He has as many as an estimated 50,000 followers in this very remote part of Siberia.  God is not pleased with this fellow one bit!

Jesus said these signs would appear before He returns, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  You may have noticed that the frequent earthquakes throughout the world are hitting in various places.  This is exactly what Jesus said would happen.  Also, many of the earthquakes over the last year have hit off coasts, not directly under inhabited lands.  The Lord is issuing warnings for people to pray, receive Him and prepare to meet their God; but He is also showing mercy at this time, in that many have not hit lands and there have been minimal casualties compared with the magnitude of shaking going on.  The graph below shows the drastic increase in earthquake activity between 2010 and 2011 (look closely at the 2011 increase on the graph near the border).
