Aldrin "A.J." Nicolas, choir teacher at Salinas High School.
I imagine it has been a very disturbing week at Salinas High School in Monterey County, California, after a second arrest has been made this week among staff at Salinas.

Aldrin "A.J." Nicolas, a 26-year-old choir teacher at Salinas High School was arrested after putting a "spy pen" in a bathroom used by female students during a class trip.  The pen was found and turned in to authorities.  The County Sheriff's Office reports that the victims were ages 13 through 17.  The Salinas Californian reported that authorities found videos of teen girls undressing in their hotel bathroom.  Aldrin Jayson Nicolas was arrested Tuesday and is being held in Santa Cruz County Jail.

This incident occurred on the heels of the arrest of Gilbert Olivares, a counselor at Salinas High School.  Olivares was arrested for allowing students to use his office for sexual encounters and for secretly videotaping the students. * See post dated 4/12/12 on this page.  Also, check numerous posts on this subject in the Abominations category.

There are so many, many reports of sexual abuse by teachers and staff throughout schools in American, I have to say that if you have school-aged children, please consider visiting the Home Education page of this website for alternatives.  In this economy, there are no doubt parents, or single parents, who cannot afford to stay home and educate the children.  The answer is prayer.  Pray over your children daily, before you send them off to school, and know where your children are at all times.  God is faithful to "Keep those we commit unto Him against that day" 2 Timothy 1:12.  If you are sending your children outside to school, pray for a solution, because God is still in the miracle-working business.  He can make a way when there seems to be no way.  Please read my testimony on the Home Education page of this website; I am certain it will encourage you.

It might also be time to think outside of the box.  Do what you can and God will do the rest.  Consider giving up the second car, vacations, the room addition, the bigger house/apartment, in fact, everything that is not absolutely essential.  Consider the possibility of moving back home with the parents, long enough to get the children through the early years of school.  We are living in perilous times and it is certainly time to take drastic measures, as the Lord leads.  The Word of God says, "Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7.  Jesus said, "Because iniquity will abound, the love of many will wax cold" Matthew 24:12.  "Know this, that in the last days perilous times shall come" 2 Timothy 3:1.
