The Bible says,

"Know this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming, for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation" 2 Peter 3:3-4.

The Word of God also tells us,

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" 2 Peter 3:9.

Jesus said,

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour, no man knows, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be; for as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be" Matthew 24:35-39.

Jesus made it clear that heaven and earth will pass away, but His Words are certain. He also said in this passage of scripture that the world will be carrying on as usual, doing the things they normally do, when He returns for His people.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, when the floods came upon everyone by surprise, except for Noah and his family, the return of the Lord will surprise and shock the world, except for those who are ready and watching for His return.

Jesus said,

"So likewise you, when you see all these things, know that it (His return) is near, even at the doors" Matthew 24:33.

Jesus was speaking to His people, His bride, His elect, who will be watching and waiting for Him. He said, "know that it is near, even at the doors." Yes, we will not know the day or the hour, but we will know when it is near, even at the doors! The rest of the world can't see spiritually and they will have no idea when the Lord will return for His people, but the children of God will know when it is near.

This spiritual blindness reminds me of when the armies of Syria surrounded Elisha and the sons of the prophets of Israel. When Elijah's servant saw the army of Syria surround them, he said, "Alas, master, what shall we do?" In response, Elisha said to his servant, "Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them." And Elisha prayed and said, "Lord, I pray Thee, open his eyes that he may see." And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw
, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha." 2 Kings 6:15-17.

Do you have spiritual eyes to see, or are you looking at the world through carnal eyes? Only the Lord can give us spiritual eyes to see, otherwise we are blind to what is going on in God's realm.

According to Bible prophecy, the Lord will return for His people in this generation, because the gospel has been preached in every nation on earth (Matthew 24:14); are you ready? If not, please visit the How Can I Be Saved page of this website. Your eternal destiny depends on it. God bless you.
