Huffington Post (excerpts) - Cernobbio, Italy:  Experts and leaders gathered in Italy may disagree on the cure, but the malady seems clear: the world economy faces a "perfect storm."

Many attendees at the annual Ambrosetti Forum at Lake Como on Friday fretted about mounting US debt and Europe's inability to balance electorates' apparent insistence on national sovereignty with the need for regional coherence to salvage the teetering euro. 

Economist Nouriel Roubini predicted years of gloom almost regardless of what is decided. 


Tent cities haven't disappeared in America, but no one is talking about them during this campaign season.


Huffington Post (excerpts):  A record 46.7 million Americans, or roughly 1 in 5 adults, used Food Stamps in June 2012, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently reported.

Food Stamp use has spiked 51 percent since October 2008, when the economy was in free fall.  The number of American's now using Food Stamps is roughly the same as the number of Americans living in poverty. 

Commentary:  This world is being run by elite billionaires who have no regard for the poor.  As they did during the Great Depression, the bankers will collapse everything at a strategic moment, as they did during the housing market crash, when they can confiscate the most wealth from those who are already struggling, as well as those who have managed their money fairly well - they want it all!
