Huffington Post:  According to several news sources, Osama Bin Laden is dead and has been shot down by US forces.  President Obama is scheduled to announce the news late this evening at 10:30 pm EST.  The US is in possession of his body, a person familiar with the situation told the Associated Press late today, Sunday.  It is currently unclear where or how Bin Laden was killed, or how the US captured his body.  Officials have long believed Bin Laden, the most wanted man in the world, was hiding in a mountainous region along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

My Comments:  I wonder how President Obama will make his announcement this evening, in light of the fact that many Muslims believed Bin Laden to be their Mahdi (Messiah), awaiting the right time to come forth and announce his reign in the Islamic world.  Forget altogether Pastor Terry Jones's Qu'ran burning!  That was nothing, absolutely nothing compared to the spark this is going to ignite in the Muslim community against the US!  Of course, as much as President Obama loves the Muslims, this is a very good time for him to gain some critical points from conservative Americans.  I wonder if the mainstream news media and the top military brass in Afghanistan will now ridicule President Obama for shooting and burning one who Muslims consider to be a "holy man."  I'm curious to know if Americans will consider this act to have put our "troops at risk."  Let there be no misunderstanding, I am elated that this terrorist is now dead.  I am just pointing out that there is no difference between killing the radical terrorist man and burning the radical terrorist man's book, which promotes his radical terrorism.  Our administration has known the location of Osama Bin Laden in the past and, quite frankly, I do not believe that we ever lost track of him for reasons I won't go into, which are detailed and lengthy in nature.  Our former administration passed on taking Bin Laden out previously because he was said to have been with another "high profile" person at the time.  Just how valuable is the life of a person who "hangs out" with Osama Bin Laden anyway?

Apparently, the lives of three individuals with Osama Bin Laden when he was killed were not as important as the other person thought to be too important to kill the last time the US troops could have taken out Bin Laden.  I believe this was a strategic move by the current administration at a pivotal moment in time to boost President Obama's bid for another term in the White House.  Donald Trump, with his possible decision to run for president, and Sarah Palin are both formidable opponents to Obama.  Most importantly, I think Barack Obama is very tired of trying to prove to an unconvinced American public that he is not a Muslim, so Osama Bin Laden was Barack Obama's convenient "pansy."  Tonight's announcement was very good news, which was somewhat lost in all of the "pat me on the back" rhetoric by Barack Obama during his speech later this evening.  He has especially been criticized for not doing enough to quell terrorism during the last three years.  What a convenient break he had in Osama Bin Laden at this critical time!
