A textile designer, she earned $100,000 a year and lived a comfortable New York City life with her husband, a former radio producer. They paid $2,000 a month for their apartment, kept a vegan diet and had a soft spot for pet birds - ultimately collecting so many that they devoted a room to housing them. Her world came crumbling two years ago when she lost her job in the recession. Like many of the jobless, Berenzweig couldn't fund her old lifestyle with meager unemployment payments. She downsized. She moved from place to place, then she eventually left the city altogether. Today, Berenzweig eats, sleeps and entertains in a two person tent in the middle of the woods. On her recent 61st birthday, she was one of dozens of people, from the chronically homeless to former professionals like herself, who have come to call such places home. "We're too young for Social Security and too old to be trained for another job," she said recently, standing by a makeshift kitchen table under a tarp outside her tent. "So here we are."
Today, the camp is home to almost 80 people, led by a former electrical contractor-turned-pastor who left a modest life to take his ministry on the dirt road. They live with little electricity and without a modern sewage system. Instead, they use propane tanks for heat and a pump that sends water to a generator powered washing machine and shower housed in a shack. The camp runs on donations from churches and temples whose members visit daily, and has survived on a budget of around $1,000 a month. In this thriving community, complete with a chapel, a TV room and bi-monthly Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings, new residents arrive every few weeks. "This camp is for the homeless. It doesn't matter what caused you to be homeless," said Pastor Steve Brigham, who lives in a converted school bus with a desk, twin-size bed and bookshelves, from which he doles out supplies like food and propane tanks to residents. Yet, for all the hospitality he's received from local churches and temples, he has started to have "trouble with the powers that be." A Lakewood resident since childhood, who was ordained at a local nondenominational congregation, Brigham is talking about his hometown's government. For most of its years, he said, the township largely ignored the tent city, but now Lakewood is taking Brigham to court to get the camp shut down.
Commentary: Talk about kicking someone while they are down... With tent cities popping up all over the nation, and growing on a weekly basis, the courts may not contain the number of lawsuits it will take to remove these unfortunate people off the face of the globe; I say globe, because, really, where does "city hall" want these people to go, if not wooded, uninhabited areas? You might say, the "high and mighty" see them as an "eye sore" and they don't want them to be able to exist at all - anywhere. Depopulation conspiracies aren't just concoctions from people's imaginations. The more the economy fails and the worse things get for a whole lot of people, the harsher and more cruel governing bodies are going to become. How do I know this? The Word of God tells us, "Know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. Men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God" 2 Timothy 3:1-4. I was just reading this morning the things that Jesus taught his followers: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets which were before you" Matthew 5:3-12.Young Pastor Steve Brigham, who "bears his cross" daily to help the homeless. HuffingtonPost.com by Dan Froomkin (excerpts): Washington - With just over three months until the last US troops are currently due to leave Iraq, the Department of Defense is engaged in a mad dash to give away things that cost US taxpayers billions of dollars to buy and build. The giveaways include enormous, elaborate military bases and vast amounts of military equipment that will be turned over to the Iraqis, mostly just to save the expense of bringing it home. "Its all sunk costs," said retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton, who oversaw the training of Iraqi soldiers from 2003 to 2004. Rather than strip those bases clean and ship everything home, Defense Department officials tell the Huffington Post that over 2.4 million pieces of equipment worth a total of at least $250 million - everything from tanks and trucks to office furniture and latrines - have been given away to the Iraqi government in the past year, with the pace of transfers expected to increase dramatically in the coming months. Most of the 2.4 billion was spent building about a dozen huge outposts that, in addition to containing air strips and massive fortifications also have all the comforts of home. The Al-Asad Airfield in Anbar province, for example, covers 25 square miles, about the size of Boulder, CO, and is known as "Camp Cupcake" due to its amenities. The 15-square-mile Joint Base Balad, as Whitney Terrell wrote earlier this year for Slate, is "home to three football field-sized chow halls, a 25-meter swimming pool, a high dive, a football field, a softball field, two full-service gyms, a squash court, a movie theater, and the US military's largest airfield in Iraq;" and it's not clear just what the Iraqis will do with some of these bases once they get them.
Commentary: So, what did we receive for leaving all of this armory and amenities behind (take a look below - amputees). The Iraqis especially loved planting mines that would blow the legs off of our young men. What will we get from them in the future? Unfortunately, since Israel is their closest enemy, they will most likely turn all of this armory around and use it against our closest ally and their closest enemy, Israel. In case you aren't aware of it, Iraq is 98.9% Muslim. The Muslims refer to us as "big satan" and to Israel as "little satan." They hate us vehemently. Most Iraqis never wanted us there and they laugh at our "stupidity." Walid Shoebat, who now speaks out for the US and Israel (shoebat.com), was a former PLO terrorist and he said they laugh at us! Check out his website. Their religious leaders lead huge rallies among the populations and they literally chant, "death to America and death to Israel!" Unless our troops converted most of the Iraqi Muslims to some other religion, their "holy books," and the "holy" Qu'ran, teaches them to "kill the infidels (non-Muslims)" Surah 9:5, and "Wherever you find infidels, kill them" Hadith 9:4, "When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks" Qu'ran 47:4. They are biding their time, but if you aren't a Muslim, their objective, according to the Qu'ran, is to kill you and me. Now, aren't our leaders the most intelligent people in the world? The holy Bible tell us, "Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour" 1 Peter 5:8. Someone is either drunk, lazy or not too bright, maybe all three, in Washington.

HuffingtonPost.com by Jay Reeves (excerpts): Alabaster, AL - An Alabama school teacher was jailed on charges of sexually abusing a fourth grade female student, and police said Thursday the man told them he molested more than 20 other girls over his 25-year career. Alabaster police said Daniel Montague Acker Jr, 49, was charged with three counts of sexual abuse and additional charges were possible. "This is not a one-time event," said Deputy Chief Curtis Rigney. "This happened over a period of 25 years." Commentary: Do you know who is teaching your child(ren) half the day? Do you really? Do you live with the teachers? Do you watch their every move? The Bible has a remedy for this type of evil. God said, "You shall lay up My Words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign on your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up" Deuteronomy 11:18-19. ...when you sit in your house, walk by the way, lie down, rise up... That doesn't sound like a 15 minute story before bedtime to me. I know this much about God's Word and the God I serve; He didn't give us children so we could send them off to be taught by strangers and the ungodly most of the day, that I know for certain. Before my son was born, I felt a great obligation to home educate him, so when the time came, I did just that. My son has gone on to be with the Lord. You couldn't give me a trillion dollars to have sent him off to strangers if I had it all to do over again. When my son left this world, he had no doubt in his mind where he was going. He passed on to be with the Lord in the most peaceful manner I have ever seen. I used to work in convalescent hospitals and acute care hospitals alike; I have seen death, and I witnessed the passing of four of my family members. My son was peacefully caught up to heaven like nothing I have ever seen in my life. He knew who God is and you can't put a price tag on that. His first class of the day for eight years was Bible and he loved it. He knew the Word of God like no other little child I ever knew. Not only that, time and time again, the doctors, neighbors, friends, so many people told me Levi had knowledge, not only knowledge of the Bible, but everyday knowledge like no other child they ever met! I attribute that to his godly education, not myself. Another great benefit was, I knew for a fact no one was molesting him; he was with me! Obama and his Cousin Raila Odinga, Prime Minister of Kenya.
Israel Today by Ryan Jones (excerpts): Israel's National Security Council determined during an emergency meeting last week that US President Barack Obama is "naive" when it comes to Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and the dangers it poses. The council, which exists to provide strategic assessments to the Prime Minister and his cabinet, met in Jerusalem for a discussion entitled "The Challenge of the Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood and its Offshoots." The meeting was called as the Muslim Brotherhood was wrapping up its wildly successful showing in Egypt's first democratic election since the fall of former dictator Hosni Mubarak. With the votes from the third round of voting expected to be tallied soon, the Brotherhood is predicted to control at least 40 percent of the Egyptian parliament. The even more radical al-Nour party came in second place with 25-30 percent of the vote. When it became increasingly clear over the summer that the Muslim Brotherhood was emerging as Egypt's new dominant force, Obama's reaction was to "engage" the party that had once been shunned by Washington as a terrorist organization. Just last month, Obama dispatched Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Senator John Kerry to meet with Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Cairo. Both Obama's initial reaction to fears of a Brotherhood takeover and his response once such a takeover became inevitable were "naive" and place the region at increased risk, warned Israel's National Security Council. Just this week, the Muslim Brotherhood's second in command told Arab media that once in power, his group will never recognize Israel and will work to undo the Camp David Accords, a policy that has the potential to unhinge what's left of regional stability.
Commentary: Israel's very kind and considerate response to Obama's treachery towards Israel since he took office would be expected. The facts are these: Obama worked to oust every dictator in the surrounding countries, who were at least at an even tone with Israel, if not abiding by a peace treaty, such as Mubarak. Not to give any real credit to these dictators, but what we see here is the surrounding nations going from bad to worse, which many familiar with the Middle East and the political winds there predicted precisely. Obama was raised a Muslim; his father is a Muslim, as are many close relatives in Kenya. Obama stood by his cousin Raila Odinga, as he ran for the presidential post in Kenya, and as Odinga's supporters burned 200 people alive inside of a church where they took refuge, when Odinga lost the election. His supporters killed 700, displacing 250,000 within a month after the election. In just over six weeks, the death toll had risen to 1,500 with 500,000 homeless. Obama was in Kenya supporting his cousin's campaign and he spent 24 million to assist in changing the Kenya constitution to a Sharia compliant one. In order to keep the peace, the president offered Obama's cousin the position of Prime Minister in Kenya. Obama praised Kenya for approving the controversial new constitution that partially implemented Sharia law in Kenya (source: Atlas Shrugs). Is Obama ignorant of the Muslim Brotherhood? No, emphatically no, he is not.
The Word of God says, "He causes all both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads, that no man might buy or sell, except he who had the mark, or the name of the beast (the Antichrist), or the number of his name" Revelation 13:16-17. "I saw the souls of those who were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark in their foreheads or in their hands" Revelation 20:4.

German police remove Israeli flags posted by protesters of a Palestinian hate against Israel rally in Berlin. Quite a big anti-Israel demonstration arose in Berlin and German police were seen backing the antisemitism all the way by removing Israeli flags. The Bible tells us that in the last days "all nations will come against Jerusalem" Zachariah 14:2. Later in the same chapter, Zachariah 14, the prophet describes the millennial reign and how all nations remaining after the great battle of Armageddon will go up to Jerusalem to "worship the king, the Lord of hosts." Our current president is antisemitic and all of Israel's surrounding Arab nations have turned against him, thanks in part to Obama, and many other nations are demonstrating antisemitism, which shows that the Lord's return is very near. "I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished, and half of the city will go into captivity and the residue of the people will not be cut off from the city" Zachariah 14:2. "It will come to pass that everyone that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem will even go up from year to year to worship the king, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles" Zachariah 14:16. After Jesus returns and wins the battle against all nations that come against Jerusalem, He will set up His kingdom on earth and all nations will come to Jerusalem to worship Him. During this presidential campaign year, it is again time to look back over the past presidency to make an assessment of progress, or lack of it. "Obama just put Israel on the 'chopping block,'" were words embedded in the minds of millions, no doubt, as former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton retorted, after President Obama used the UN podium in September 2009, to denounce and berate Israel for building on their own land! Obama said, "America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements" in Israel. Hmmm, "America does not accept...?" I suppose our House of Representatives showed Obama that he had better be careful what he says in behalf of "America." Our Congress gave Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu somewhere in the neighborhood of 36 standing ovations during his speech to the House last year, as he responded to Obama's suggestion that Israel's borders be pushed back to the '67 lines. While all of the oil-rich Arabs place their "throwaway people" along the outskirts of Israel and proclaim they have been neglected by Israel, we Americans know the truth. President Barack Hussein Obama, Constitution-hating Muslim that he demonstrates himself to be, doesn't know the truth. The truth is, Israel was a barren, isolated, forgotten land until Israel became a nation in 1948. America's then president, Harry Truman, and this nation, were the first to recognize Israel as a nation. Does President Barack Obama understand the meaning of "sovereign nation?" Apparently not. Obama's rhetoric about Israel "building settlements" on their own soil is akin to the president of Mexico saying, "We do not recognize those settlements in San Diego!!" How ridiculous can this pathetic community organizer, wanna-be president be? He is simply a closet Muslim and apparently can't control his religious sentiments at all. "I (God) will bless those who bless you (Israel) and curse him who curses you; in you (Israel) all the families of the earth will be blessed" Genesis 12:3. Apparently Obama has no hesitation railing against God's holy Word! If America were behind Obama in his railings against Israel, we would all be cursed! However, since God knows the hearts of every man, it is only himself that Obama has cursed. "Better is a poor and wise child than an old and foolish king (or president), who will no more be admonished" Ecclesiastes 4:13.

A Message from God is a book based on the true story of a 12-year-old boy who suffered a near death experience and went to heaven. Aldo Mc Pherson was involved in a terrible accident at the age of 12, suffering a severe head injury. Aldo was in a coma for about a month and doctors did not expect him to recover; then, by a miracle from God, he emerged to consciousness. Doctors were consistently giving grievous prognoses; "he will never be able to sit, stand or walk." Nevertheless, Aldo's mother, Retha Mc Pherson, received divine revelations from God during Aldo's recovery. God anointed her with great faith and she began to speak nothing but healing and recovery over Aldo's broken body, while suffering the criticism of others; but she continued in her faith. Today, Aldo can walk, talk, and eat on his own. His left eye is still closed, but he and his mother believe God for the complete healing of this eye also. During his recovery, when he was only able to write to his mother, he told her one day about two boys he had met in heaven. They asked Aldo to give their parents a message, that they were in heaven and they do not want their parents to worry about them. Aldo also gave his mother the address of the boys in order to contact their parents! Aldo met Jesus and spoke with him throughout the time he remained in a coma. Jesus told Aldo that He "is coming soon!" The book is phenomenal and uplifting. I have no doubt that anyone who reads it is sure to experience the spiritual strength and encouragement I gained from this incredible story.
I believe that Aldo's experience is one of the last days "signs in the earth," demonstrating the Lord's soon return. "I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, fire and vapor of smoke" Acts 2:19. Another boy, three-year-old Colton Burpo, suffered a near death experience. After his recovery, he told his parents about speaking to Jesus in heaven and how Jesus told him He "is coming soon!" His father, Todd Burpo, wrote a book, Heaven is for Real, an account of his son's experience in heaven. I have read both books and they are remarkable! I highly recommend both. "It will come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams" Acts 2:17.

Dead birds lined the streets of Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Kentucky and California on New Years Eve (see earlier post). In Europe, an estimated 20 tons of herring washed ashore in Norway on New Year's Eve. The same type of incidents occurred in January 2011 throughout the globe. In addition to the massive bird and fish deaths, over 10,000 cows died in Vietnam last year and tens of thousands of crabs died in Britain. An estimated 10,000 Wildebeest drowned themselves in Kenya this last October. These are only just a few incidents of mass animal deaths throughout the world last year.
Concerning the last days, the Word of God says, "The land will mourn and everyone who dwells in it will languish, with the beasts of the field and the fowls of heaven, yes, the fishes of the sea will also be taken away" Hosea 4:3. President Obama makes fun of the conservative Republicans' concerns about protecting the US border.
WashingtonPost.com (excerpts): Some 12,000 people died in Mexico's spiraling drug violence last year, according to grim annual tallies reported Monday by the country's leading media outlets. Annual indexes of torture, beheadings and the killing of women all showed increases.
Commentary: President Obama spoke in El Paso, TX, on May 10, 2011, claiming that the feds have completed the border fencing that the Republican's wanted built, and that El Paso and other border communities "are among the safest in the nation." He said, "They wanted a fence. The fence is now basically complete." "Maybe they'll need a moat," he said. "Maybe they'll want alligators in the moat."
Congress passed the Secure Fence Act in 2006. The legislature states that "the fence would secure 700 miles of the border." The facts: 700 miles of fencing has not been built. Richard Stana, director of homeland security issues for the Government Accountability Office, informed the Senate Homeland Security Committee in March that Homeland Security increased the total length of the border fence to 649 miles, an increase of three miles in one year. That leaves 1,081 miles of border where Homeland Security has no operational control.
Are the border cities safe? An annual statistical report of the Executive Office for the United States Attorneys, which was published in 2010 states, "Violence along the border of the United States and Mexico has increased dramatically during recent years. The violence associated with Mexican drug trafficking organizations poses a serious problem for law enforcement." According to the Justice Department, there were more than two and a-half times as many criminals charged in federal court in Western Texas, where El Paso is, than in the combined districts of Southern New York, which includes Manhattan and the Bronx, and Eastern New York, which includes Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.
Does Obama care about his lies and the fact that a few of us can sniff these things out? No, his gamble is that millions of Mexicans will vote for him and he doesn't care about the few of us that know about his lies or lack of ethics. The Bible says, "In the last days, perilous times will come. Men will be lovers of their own selves...boasters, proud, blasphemers...unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers...despisers of those who are good, traitors, heady, highminded...from such turn away" 2 Timothy 3:1-5. In 2010, these pitiful Christians were burned up alive in churches by Muslims in Nigeria. MSNBC.com: Christians have been warned by a militant Islamist group to leave northern Nigeria or be attacked, according to media reports. Abul Qaqa, a purported spokesman for Boko Haram, said the terror group was now giving a three-day ultimatum to the southerners living in the northern part of Nigeria to move away, the English language Vanguard newspaper reported. The group has been linked to many attacks on Christians, most notably the bombings on Christmas Day killed 49 people, most of them at a Catholic church as services were ending. Nigeria's 160 million people are divided between the mainly Muslim north and predominantly Christian south. Qaqa said Boko Haram wished "to call on our fellow Muslims to come back to the north." The BBC reported that Nigeria's president, Goodluck Jonathan, declared a state of emergency on Saturday in parts of four states hard hit by violence blamed on Boko Haram. It said Mr. Jonathan vowed to "crush" the group, which he said started as a harmless group, but had now grown cancerous. Human rights activist Shehu Sani told CNN that the latest Boko Haram threat was credible, but many Christians born and raised in the north have nowhere else to go. "The killings will continue," he told CNN, adding that the state of emergency and an enhanced presence of the security forces would not improve the situation, alleging that troops had already been involved in human rights abuses and had done little to reduce violence. David Cook of Rice University, who has studied the rise of Boko Haram, told CNN that if radical Muslim violence on a systematic level were to take hold in Nigeria...it could eventually drive the country into a civil war.
Commentary: Jesus said concerning the latter days preceding His return: "You will be hated of all men for My name's sake, but he who endures until the end will be saved" Matthew 10:22. "They will deliver you up to be afflicted and will kill you and you will be hated of all nations for My name's sake" Matthew 24:9. We are living in the days Jesus spoke of. Muslims are going throughout the world starting "Jihad" (holy war) to bring about the return of their Mahdi (Muslim messiah). As this is taking place in Africa, the Middle East, and other nations, President Obama does not allow the use of the phrase "Islamic terrorist," and all references to it have been removed from military Terror Training manuals throughout the US. Instead, Terrorist Screening Centers are compiling lists of potential terrorists, under the Obama administration, which include: Christians who believe in end times, US military vets who served in the Middle East, people who are pro-life, pro-Constitutionalists, tea partiers, to name a few. Do you see where this is going?
