rt.com (excerpts): Magnitude of Siberian quake raised to 9.5 (USGS shows 6.6 and needs updating). The quake that struck southeastern Siberia late on Tuesday has been raised to 9.5, according to Russia's emergencies minister Sergey Shoigu. The quake is the strongest ever to be detected in the region he said. There have been no reports of damage or casualties since the tremor, initially reported as 6.7 on the Richter scale, struck a sparsely populated area in the Republic of Tyva near the Russian-Mongolian border. However, Shoigu expressed doubts that there has been no damage at all and has ordered the authorities to stay on the alert for any aftershocks that may follow.
Commentary: This major quake hit Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at 15:21:56 UTC, at a depth of only 6.9 km (4.3 mi). Tyva's landscape is 80% mountains and hills with no railway and there are only three roads into Tyva. Due to the remoteness of this country, it is possible that news of their status subsequent to such a major quake is delayed. The Philippine government said Tuesday that fresh rain in Visayas and Mindanao could set off flash floods and landslides, bringing the potential for more misery in places already struggling to recover from a tropical storm that has killed more than 1,400. The forecast was released on the same day that the government said the death toll from the tropical storm that lashed the southern Philippines more than a week ago has increased to 1,453 from 1,249 a day before. "Numbers will continue to rise, unfortunately, as we continue to retrieve more bodies," Benito Ramos head of NDRRMC said Tuesday. The bodies of people swept out to sea by flash floods from the storm have washed up on nearby beaches and islands, Maj. Reynaldo Balido, the military assistant for operations at the office of Civil Defense said Monday. The authorities have enlisted the help of local fishermen to help the continuing search and rescue efforts for the scores of people who remain missing, Balido said by telephone from the island Mindanao, the scene of the worst devastation. He added that the fishermen volunteered, since many of them had lost friends and relatives in the disaster. The unusually heavy rains of tropical storm Washi, which churned across the southern Philippines between December 16 and 18, resulted in landslides and flash floods that swept away whole villages. The authorities have to carry out mass burials in order to deal with the large numbers of dead. "I've gone through so many disasters, but this one is the worst, as some of the survivors have lost so many family members," said Richard Gordon, chairman of the Philippine Red Cross. "Some have lost as many as 30 relatives," he said in comments posted recently on the organization's website. The number of people injured as a result of the storm has more than doubled to 4,594 from 1,979 at the weekend, according to the NDRRMC, putting more pressure on already stretched relief agencies. The United Nations said last week that the storm has created "huge" humanitarian needs in the region. It has made an appeal to raise 28 million to deal with the immediate problems, with tens of thousands of people displaced in and around the port cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro. Many people are lacking food, shelter, and clean drinking water, the United Nations said. The storm, known locally as Sendong, has affected more than 700,000 people in the region, the NDRRMC estimated Tuesday. President Benigno Aquino of the Philippines has declared a state of national calamity following the storm.
Commentary: Another massively fatal, record-breaking storm. Much of the same has happened here in the US during the last year, as well as China, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico and other areas. The frequency of these deadly storms in such a relatively short period of time is what is so unique, as compared to other storms throughout history. The Bible tells us that there will be such devastating storms in the last days, "Behold, the Lord has a strong and mighty tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, which will be cast down to the earth with His hand" Isaiah 28:2. "You will be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, earthquake, great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire" Isaiah 29:6. The nations have also suffered record-breaking fires in the last two years, which the Word of God also tells us will happen. The world is "languishing," as described in Hosea 4:3, before the great day of the coming of the Lord. These are warning signs to repent, if you have not done so already, and be prepared for the return of the Lord. As Christians, we are not afraid. We know that the Lord will take care of us, but we need to pray as we read these news reports, that people will be saved, who do not know the Lord, and that God will take care of His people through the devastation. Yes, those Solyndra people and Obama have a lot to smile about.
The Solyndra charade went on and on...and I was really bored to look into the details, because it seemed like just another great big scandalous, destructive loss for the US, in the name of Barack Hussein Obama. (To tell you the truth, there are so many outrageous negative news stories to report concerning Obama, I get weary just trying to figure out which incident to report. Most of the Obama posts are downloaded under the "Destruction to the United States," "Terrorism," or "One World Socialist Government" categories on this blog.)
One thing did grab my attention recently though. Among President Obama's monumental spending sprees, the likes of which has never been told, the $535 million loan doled out by US taxpayers, through the hand of President Obama, did catch my attention when I noticed an article by Lookout, which stated that under the Bush administration, the Department of Energy rejected Solyndra for a loan in 2009, citing the company "didn't have good long-term prospects." Yet only two months later, under the new Obama administration, Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced that the US government would give Solyndra a $535 million dollar loan! President Obama visited the facility in May 2010, giving the company a big "thumbs up;" but Solyndra laid off 100 employees only one month later and cancelled its plans for a public stock offering - very suspicious. In early September 2011 (9-11) it fired 1,000 workers and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy! In summary: Bush is down on Solyndra - too unstable. Obama steps into office and Solyndra gets $535 MILLION US TAXPAYER DOLLARS. Obama visits Solyndra, gives a "thumbs up" and it lays off 100 employees only one month later. A year later, Solyndra files for bankruptcy - only days before the anniversary of 9-11 (the 11th was a Sunday) - coincidence? Solyndra doesn't know where the money is - need I say more? Well, I will say one more thing. Under the Obama administration, 11 trillion, yes, 11 TRILLION has been committed to bailouts (source: money.cnn.com). Imagine how many citizens could have benefited and how many jobs could have been created if that type of money (our US tax dollars) would have been placed into the right hands. Big bankers got the money and 9 trillion of it is unaccounted for! Oh, by the way, another nugget: George Kaiser, who raised about $250,000 for Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, owns 39% of Solyndra. This is tragic for the American people. "Better is a poor and wise child than an old and foolish king (president), who will no longer be admonished" Ecclesiastes 4:13.

USGS: A major 6.0 earthquake hit Tonga on Monday, 12/26/11, at 04:48:08 UTC, at a depth of 78.6 km (48.8 mi).
Commentary: This is the sixth earthquake in the last seven days over 5.5 magnitude, with this one being a major 6.0. There was also a 5.8 in South Island, New Zealand, and two 5.9s, on in South Island, New Zealand and the other south of Africa on Friday, 12/23/11. These major earthquakes are a sign of the Lord's return, and they are happening in drastic numbers just in the last 12 months. Jesus said, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom and there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7. IndianExpress.com: Ahmedabad, India - The fisheries, forest and health departments of Ahmedabad district swung into action on Friday after receiving reports of fish dying en masse in a pond near Kerala, a village located 38 km from Ahmedabad. According to sarpanch of the village, at least four tons of fish have died over the last three days. Teams from these departments visited the pond, collected samples and asked villagers not to consume dead fish or draw water from the reservoir. "We noted some dead fish, some small and some weighing up to five kilograms, washed ashore on Wednesday night. The next morning there were piles of them and it continued on Thursday and Friday," sarpanch Subhas Thakar told the Indian Express. The natural pond is right at the foot of the village with a population of around 7,000 and is spread over five acres. It is 30 feet deep at some points and fresh water remains round the year. Its banks are lined by a rice mill, a bearing factory and farms, the sarpanch said, adding fishing is not allowed there now. We informed authorities after the problem seemed to grow serious on Thursday, Thakar said.
Commentary: The dying fish since January of last year has become an international crisis, though you will not hear that word in the news media too frequenly, at least not in the US. TheRepublic.com (excerpts): Las Cruces, NM - Piles of dead crows, possibly hundreds of them, have been found at Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park. Members of the Mesilla Vally Audubon Society reported Tuesday the stack of dead birds discovered during their annual Christmas Bird Count. The birds were found dead in the park's river and along the west side of the river. Birdwatcher Ken Stinnett said most of the birds found dead were American crows, although he said he also saw a Chihuahuan raven and Brewer's blackbird. It is unclear why the birds died.
Commentary: There is some speculation about why there have been massive bird, fish and animal deaths, but regardless of the reason, these occurrences are prophetic. All of the stories regarding dead birds, fish and animals posted on this site and many other sites around the world are only the cases we are aware of. Environmental researchers are extremely concerned over the loss of massive croplands throughout the world due to storms and drought, as well as fish and marine life, which are part of our natural food resources. Even the water supply is very much at risk in the coming years, yet you don't hear very much about conservation, not on a level that portrays the global facts. The Bible says, "The land will mourn and everyone that dwells in it will languish, with the beasts of the field and the fowls of heaven, yes, the fishes of the sea will also be taken away" Hosea 4:3. Those of us who know Bible prophecy are aware of the fact that there will be major wars, no doubt over food and water shortages to come. The Bible says, "When they say, 'Peace and safety,' sudden destruction will come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they will not escape" 1 Thessalonians 5:3. DailyMail.co.uk (excerpts): Conservationists have warned that Rudolph's reindeer friends are under threat, as the world's largest herd has gone into decline - and could be wiped out within a few years. More than 90% of the George River population, which roams northern Canada, has vanished in the past two decades. Numbers have fallen by 24,000 in the last year alone. Experts say the reason for the drop is not clear.
Commentary: More animals have gone extinct in the last decade, than during any other time in modern history. The Word of God says, "The land will mourn and everyone that dwells in it will languish, with the beasts of the field and the fowls of heaven, yes, the fishes of the sea will also be taken away" Hosea 4:3.
I have included a list of animal extinctions in recent years and brief summary for each species below:
Pyrenean Ibex: The last natural Pyrenean Ibex, a female named Celia, was found dead on January 6, 2000, killed by a falling tree. Although her cause of death is known, the reason for the extinction of the subspecies as a whole is a mystery.
Po'ouli Bird: By 1997, only three birds were known to exist in a Hawaiian reserve. On September 9, 2004, one of the remaining of three birds, a male, was captured and taken to the Maui Bird Conservation Center in Olinda, in an attempt to breed the bird in captivity. However, biologists could not find a mate for the male before it died on November 26, 2004. Since 2004, extensive surveys have failed to locate a bird of this species.
Baiji River Dolphin: The Baiji was a fresh water dolphin found only in the Yangtze River in China. The last known living Baiji was "Qi Qi" which died in 2002.
Liverpool Pigeon: The reasons for its extinction are unknown. Birdlife International added the Liverpool Pigeon to the list of extinct bird species in 2008.
Alaotra Grebe: The Alaotra Grebe was a grebe endemic to the Lake Alaotra and surrounding lakes in Madagascar. The species was declared extinct in 2010.
Eastern Cougar: A 1998 study for Canada's National Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada concluded that "there was no objective evidence for the continuous presence of cougars since the last century anywhere in eastern Canada or the eastern United States outside of Florida. In 1999, the Canadian Geographic reported that for the previous half-century, a debate over whether or not Canada's eastern woods host a cougar species all its own has raged. Now the answer appears to be "no." Experts say past sightings were cases of mistaken identification.
Western Black Rhinoceros: It was once widespread in the savanna of central-west Africa, but its numbers declined due to poaching. The Western Black Rhinoceros resided primarily in Cameroon, but recent surveys have failed to locate any and in 2011, it was declared extinct by the Internal Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Arutz Sheva by Giulio Meotti: When the United Nations celebrated its 50th anniversary, UNESCO refused to mention the Shoah - the Holocaust - in its World War II resolution, intentionally ignoring Israel's request to include a reference to the destruction of European Jewry. Since then, the UN's cultural body has passed from ignoring the Jewish requests to an obsessive promotion of Hitlerism in the Arab world. The latest number of Zayzafuna, the Palestinian Authority magazine for children, included an essay submitted by a teenage girl in which Adolf Hitler is presented as a positive figure to be admired because he killed Jews in order to "benefit the world." The story revealed by the Palestinian Media Watch shows a girl in her dream asking Hitler, "You're the one who killed the Jews?" Hitler responds, "Yes, I killed them so you would all know that they are a nation which spreads destruction all over the world." The case is not just another example of Palestinian incitement to hatred. Since August 2011, the magazine is financed by UNESCO and the MDG Achievement Fund, another UN foundation funded by the Spanish government. After the Palestinians were accepted as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's 195th member in late October, they can now apply for World Heritage classification for cultural sites they deem exclusively theirs, such as Hevron's Cave of the Patriarch's, Rachel's Tomb and Jerusalem's "holy basin." Such sites could be protected by the UN and would receive funding from UNESCO for restoration. When the Palestinian National Authority came into being in 1993, it pledged to junk its controversial textbooks, some of which date as far back as the 40s, and replace them with updated versions, purged of the anti-Jew racism and incitement that permeate the texts imported from Arab countries, many of which are reportedly still in use in Jordan. In 1994, Palestinian officials launched a textbook replacement program, with the financing and help of UNESCO. The problem is that the Palestinian textbooks were not amended so as to be rid of the anti-Jewish remarks. According to a recent report by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education, the Palestinian textbooks funded by UNESCO and the European Union are still inciting against Israel. Palestine is shown to encompass all the Jewish State, the Jewish holy sites (such as the Temple Mount) have been erased, and Arab "martyrdom" is praised. In these texts, Jews are described as "cunning," "locusts," and "wild animals." UNESCO in 2003, financed the renovation of the Alexandria library, where a copy of the antisemitic booklet, "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" was prominently displayed.
Commentary: This article speaks volumes about the antisemitic posture of the United Nations. Have you ever observed an exclusive club that discriminated against others they want to exclude in so many ways, as to let certain "undesirables" know they are not welcome. There is such bigotry against Jews in the United Nations, this flaw delegitimizes every other aspect of this absolutely USELESS elite national club of sorts, the Useless United Nations, I would call it. The Bible says that in the last days, all nations will fight against Israel: "I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle and the city will be taken, the houses rifled, the women will be ravished and half of the city will go into captivity and the residue of the people will not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle" Zechariah 14:2-3. If you read the entire chapter of Zechariah 14, you find that all the nations that fought against Israel in the capital city of Jerusalem will be destroyed, and the destruction of those against Israel is descriptive of the effects of a nuclear bomb: "Their flesh will consume away while they stand on their feet and their eyes will consume away in their holes and their tongue will consume away in their mouth" Zechariah 14:12. The Muslims are bombing and killing Jews and decapitating Christians now, but when the Lord returns, He is going to utterly demolish the Muslims. I don't hate Muslims. I pray for them to believe the gospel message and come to know the Lord. This is the Word of God, not my words. God is going to exact vengeance on the ruthless murderers of Jews and Christians; that is just a Biblical fact. If you are a Muslim, I challenge you to test the Lord. The Jews have won every war against the surrounding Muslim nations since 1948. What is the matter with Allah? Is he asleep or something? Has he taken a very long nap, so he can't defend the Muslims? According to Bible prophecy, another very major war is imminent, the battle of Gog and Magog. I challenge you to question God, and ask Allah to demonstrate his power against the Jews once and for all, if he is truly the god he says he is. Let the real God of the universe and Creator of all things win the next battle, whether it be Allah for the Muslims, or the God of the Bible for the Jews! I assure you, it will be the God of the Jews! Are you afraid to accept this challenge? My God is not afraid. I will test the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. If the god of the Muslims, Allah, is God, let the Muslims win the next great World War III battle against the Jews. If the God of the Jews is the true and living God, let Him defeat the Muslim nations for the Jews in the next great World War III to come! Please, anyone, I compel you, accept this challenge! Don't you want to know who the real God is? The Bible says that the God of the Jews will win the battle for them and they, the Jews, will be seven months burying the dead, because the slaughter is so great: "Seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, that they might cleanse the land" Ezekiel 39:12. Honor killing by stoning in progress. A couple of beheadings in Iran - nothing new.
AIPAC: The UN General Assembly on Monday, December 17, 2011, approved a resolution denouncing serious human rights violations in Iran ranging from flogging and amputations to frequent use of the death penalty, the Associated Press reported. The resolution sponsored by Canada cites torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment as examples of "serious ongoing and recurring human rights violations" in Iran. It also notes the targeting of human rights defenders, inequality and violence against women and discrimination against ethnic and religious minorities. The 193-world body adopted the resolution by a vote of 89-30 with 64 abstentions. Iran's UN Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee tried to prevent a vote on the nonbinding resolution, but the attempt was soundly defeated.
Commentary: If you add the 30 dissenting votes to the 64 abstentions, you can see how the Sharia sympathizers reign in the UN. This all appears to be a ploy to laud their pretense at real humanitarianism, which they really do not have as a whole. Essentially, if they had an ounce of human dignity and compassion for people being tortured in Iran, many of whom are Christians, they would kick Iran out of the UN altogether. The UN is too Muslim-Sharia dominated to do that. This resolution is a near-moot issue. It (the resolution) is a stated fact, laid out in writing, generally interpreted to mean "here is our opinion on this matter." Also note, it is a nonbinding resolution. Opinions don't amount to a hill of beans when there is absolutely nothing being done to end the torture, crimes against humanity and religious persecution going on in Iran. I think we can reiterate it again, "the UN is meaningless." Do you think the passivity here is unbelievable? Well, brace yourself, because according to the scriptures, these atrocities will happen worldwide! (See the post below) "Because when they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, and they were not thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" Romans 1:21-22.

In Boston, one university has taken steps to help Muslim students maintain an important ritual: bathing before prayer. At the center for English Language and Orientation at Boston University students come from all over the world to master English. The largest group is Muslims. Across the country, a number of universities, including the University of Michigan in Dearborn and George Washington University in Washington DC, have installed foot baths. Two airports, the Indianapolis Airport and KCI Airport in Kansas City, Missouri. Mike Huckabee, a former presidential candidate, called the foot baths at the University of Michigan an "accommodation we are making to one religion at the expense of others." He called it "un-American." Muslim prayer rooms and foot baths are also inside B.U.'s student union. Some foot baths were were built using public funds. The American Civil Liberties Union generally objects to public money being used for religious structures, but they do not take issue with the foot baths.
Commentary: Since prayer and God was kicked out of public schools in the early 60s, Christian children have been gnashed at and railed against at every attempt to establish prayer groups and meetings at schools. Some employers have fired employees for only having a Bible on their desk, or for wearing a cross! Can we see the disparity here? Believe it or not, the Bible says that one day Christians will be beheaded for their faith, "I saw the souls of those who were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, who did not worship the beast (Antichrist), or his image, neither received his mark on their foreheads or in their hands..." Revelation 20:4. Who is already beheading Christians in the world today? Muslims, only the Muslims.
