Newsmax.com by Tammy Bruce (excerpts): Usually around Christmas time we can count on a variety of stories where bizarre leftist worshipping of political correctness imposes itself on civilization with obsessive efforts to eradicate the word "Christmas" itself and public displays of faith. You know the drill; it's "Holiday Trees" and "Holiday Season," and "Winter Celebration." The left is thrilled we are a nation right now where Occupy Wall Street's nihilistic thugs command the public square, while the nativity scene and baby Jesus remain banned as "offensive" to one miserable group or another. This, of course, has nothing to do with fairness and everything to do with the atheistic and narcissistic left trying to impose its hopeless, Godless view of the world on everyone else. It's one thing for the usual liberal Gestapos or the odd atheist to pull that craven cart through society, but now even more disturbingly it appears President Barack Obama himself isn't even remotely trying to hide his contempt for Christianity and its importance to our great nation.
Just a few days ago, Obama and the White House went out of its way to issue a special proclamation for Eid al-Adha, the Muslim "festival of sacrifice." In an official White House statement, the president and first lady gushed about Eid and congratulated Muslims involved in the Hajj "pilgrimage." This very same president deliberately ignored Easter this year, the most holy of Christian holidays, by snubbing Christians here and around the world. In April, there was disbelief that the White House issued no proclamation about Easter, let alone a personal statement by the president and his wife. Newsmax noted:
"By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha." On top of neglecting Easter, the president "also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday." The White House did, however, "release an eight paragraph statement heralding Earth Day," which fell on Good Friday.
Most of us recognized a problem with a man whose spiritual leader and father figure (Jeremiah Wright) ran a church where pleading to God to "damn" America was standard, but it now seems Obama's contempt for this nation is personal and isn't even something he bothers to mask. In addition to gestures by this president indicating a personal contempt for the Christian foundation of this country, in the past 72 hours Americans were dumbfounded by the announcement of a "Christmas Tree Tax" by Obama's Department of Agriculture. Only after significant outrage was directed at the president and federal government for such an astounding proposal, was a "delay" in the implementation of the tax announced.
Really, imagine if the federal government even contemplated, let alone announced, a tax on Muslim prayer rugs. There is a precedent for this type of tax - in the Muslim world it's called the "Jizya - a tax levied on non-Muslim citizens only.
Commentary: The Word of God has a few things to say about this kind of thing, "As a roaring lion and a raging bear, so is a wicked ruler (or president) over the poor people" Proverbs 28:15. "We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" Ephesians 6:12.

IsraelNationalNews: Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations is asking that body's Security Council why its not "shocked" by the constant barrage of rockets and mortars fired by Gaza terrorists at southern Israel. Ambassador Ron Prosor declared Wednesday during a meeting of the UN Security Council that the unstable security situation in southern Israel should "shock" that body's members - which have often expressed deep dismay at similar situations elsewhere in the world. Prosor criticized the council at its session on Wednesday for not condemning the attacks by Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists, who earlier this month killed a 56-year-old Ashkelon man and physically wounded 16 other people in a barrage aimed at the southern region. Another 14 people were also sent to the hospital with trauma reactions and severe anxiety attacks during the five day period in which rockets and mortars were fired at Israeli civilian communities. "The pain caused by these attacks is permanent," Posor pointed out. "The scars are both physical and psychological...One million Israelis were compelled to stay home from work last week to ensure their safety...200,000 children were kept home from school. "These stories should shock and appall the Security Council and all decent people; yet not a single word of condemnation has been uttered by this council; not one word. "The silence speaks volumes," he said.
Commentary: Bravo, bravo, Mr. Posor! Isn't it good to hear the unadulterated TRUTH? It is so true, not a single nation, not the UN "Security Council," who is much speaking all the time about their quest for world peace...what a SHAM! The PA terrorists are the exact liars that the Word of God tells us about, "Because you have said, 'We have made a covenant with death' and we are in agreement with hell, when the overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us, because we have made lies our refuge and under falsehood we hid ourselves" Isaiah 28:15. As you read on, Isaiah also prophesies the destruction of these liars, those who have rained terror on Israel. Isaiah's prophesies are about the last days, as well as the millennial reign. Does that statement, "We have made a covenant with death" sound familiar? Suicide bombers ring a bell? He is talking about these who lie and tell the world that they are the ones who are persecuted, while they continuously bomb Israel and terrorize the rest of the world for no reason - there is no reason for such violence - ever. These devils say they have reason and the UN is SILENT, so where does that put the UN? Yes, on the side of terrorists! There is no other way to look at it. Satellite shows hurricane force storm on Alaska west coast.
WashingtonPost.com (excerpts): A storm of historic intensity continues to pound the west coast of Alaska Today. Twice the size of Texas, the storm is as deep as a category 3 hurricane. The National Weather Service is calling it a "life-threatening epic storm," due to its dangerous combination of towering waves (observed at 40 feet in the Bering Sea), winds over 100 miles per hour, storm surge flooding and blinding snow. The storm's central pressure bottomed out at 943 mb, this morning, comparable to the minimum pressure (942 mb) of hurricane Irene, which caused billions in damage along the East Coast in late August. From this point forward, the storm - essentially a snow hurricane (or snowicane) is forecast to slowly weaken, but will continue battering the region into the night. At the moment, the storm is producing screaming 50 - 70 mph winds along the entire west coast of Alaska (according to a coastal flood warning posted by the NWS this morning). The strong onshore winds are piling up the water along the coast. Severe coastal flooding is expected / ongoing with tides 8 to 10 feet above normal and 15 to 20 foot waves. The winds may also push ice in Norton Bay onshore. The tiny town of Nome, Alaska, home to 3,500 residents, is being battered by the storm. Law enforcement and the National Weather Service are urging inhabitants to take all necessary precautions. As Elizabeth Flock explained:
Alaska's weather has just turned from tranquil to scary. The Post's Capital Weather Gang reported yesterday: "A ferocious, dangerous storm in the North Pacific is on a collision course with the west coast of Alaska" and it's now pummeling the tiny 3,500 resident city of Nome. According to a special message from the National Weather Service, the storm may be larger than any on record in the area. The service warned that "This will be an extremely dangerous and life-threatening storm of an epic magnitude rarely experienced. All people in the area should take precautions to safeguard their lives and property."
The storm is predicted to have sustained winds of 80 - 100 mph, waves more than 40 feet high and blinding snow. Officials in Nome issued an evacuation order late Tuesday for people living in low-lying areas.
As the storm came across the Bering Sea, officials rushed to alert those in its path that it was not a normal storm, even by Alaskan standards. As AP reported:
One of the most powerful storms to hit Western Alaska in nearly 40 years battered coastal communities Wednesday with snow and hurricane-force winds, forcing some residents to seek higher ground, as it knocked out power and ripped off roofs. As the storm churned the Bering Sea, residents and emergency responders braced for a possible surge of sea water into coastal communities. "People out there are used to extreme weather, but this is not a normal storm," said Jeremy Zidek, a spokesman for the state's emergency management agency. "This is of a magnitude that can be a storm of record, extremely dangerous, and the state is treating it as such."
Water had already reached homes in at least four native villages, including Tununak and Kipnuk, state emergency managers said. Zidek noted there had been no reports of injuries and damages, so far, has been largely limited to blown-out windows and battered roofs. Hooper Bay and Tununak reported scattered power outages.
Commentary: Throughout the world, we are seeing record-breaking storms everywhere and apparently Alaska is no exception. The Word of God says that in the last days, "You will be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, earthquake, great noise, with storm and tempest and the flames of devouring fire" Isaiah 29:6. Nations throughout the world are also experiencing record-breaking fires, as foretold by the prophet Isaiah. Nevertheless, he also said, "You (God) have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall" Isaiah 25:4. The Lord already promised protection, even though the storms would come; but these promises are for those who call on His name. The Bible also says, "You have asked nothing in My name: ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full" John 16:24. God expects us to pray, so we can receive help from Him. If we don't ask, the Bible tells us, we will not receive of the Lord.

Israel and the United States withhold UNESCO dues of 2 million each.
IsraelNationalNews.com: UNESCO has lost another 2 million, this time from dues payable annually from the State of Israel. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu gave the order Thursday afternoon for the Jewish state to stop payment on its dues to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Netanyahu instructed that the funds be diverted to parallel initiatives for regional cooperation. The move comes following the agency's decision to Accept the Palestinian Authority as a full member in a vote on Monday, despite the entity's lack of membership in the UN itself and despite the fact that it is not a sovereign nation.
"Such steps will not advance peace; they only push it further away," Netanyahu said. "The only way to reach peace is through direct negotiations without preconditions."
The PA, hoping to circumvent the necessity for direct talks with Israel with its bid for recognition as an independent nation and full membership in the international body, submitted its application to the UN Security Council in September. The United States, which warned the PA it would block the move by exercising its veto in the council should the resolution approach passage, also cut off funds to UNESCO after the vote to accept the PA as a member. Canada said it would not be increasing its assistance to UNESCO. The decision affects future voluntary contributions, which are now about 10 million a year.
Commentary: Two down, and another major decision yet to go. What is that decision? Get out of the UN entirely! It is about time decent nations, which promote human rights, began backing out of the UN farce. The bottom line is, most of the UN is run by predominantly Muslim nations and when push comes to shove, they are going to lean to Islam, Sharia and outright human rights violations all the way around. When the nonSharia nations sit idly by, while the Muslim nations cut peoples limbs and heads off (slowly) in their town squares, as a matter of law, it is outright shameful and abominable that the other nonSharia nations sit among them without saying a word! They might as well do the same things! These unified nations talk about peace and the promotion of peace among nations; but still, the leaders of Iran threaten Israel and America constantly, but they are not kicked out of the UN, which means they are pacified, if not approved of within the majority. Every nation with any decency or humanitarian ideals should get out of the UN! The Bible says, "Can two walk together unless they agree?" Amos 3:3. "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people" Proverbs 14:34.

Muslims get 770 million US tax $ Americans get Tent Cities - 30 of them Commentary: We are going to throw in some interesting articles relating to the nation's economic crisis and the Obama spending machine during this year's presidential campaign, just so the American people don't forget the truth about what is happening under Obama's administration.
According to TentCity.Wikidot.com/list-of-tent-cities, there are 30 Tent Cities throughout the US (and growing) largely because Americans have lost their jobs, as well as their homes. In the meantime, the Obama administration has spent more than all previous presidents combined (source: cnsnews.com). He also sent 770 million dollars to the Middle East to "dainty up" Muslim mosques, yes, to refurbish the Muslim mosques of his friends (who cut peoples heads off and terrorize this nation), while many American citizens languish in Tent Cities across the US (you can view videos of both: the "770 million spent" and the "Tent Cities" on the News Videos page of this site (these videos are closer to the bottom of the page). Imagine what that much money could have done for quite a vast number of the homeless throughout the US.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly told US President Barack Obama that he could "not stand' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he thinks the Israeli premier "is a liar." According to a Monday report in the French website "Arret sur Images," after facing reporters for a G20 press conference on Thursday, the two presidents retired to a private room to further discuss the matters of the day. The conversation apparently began with president Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO, despite Washington's strong objection to the move. The conversation then drifted to Netanyahu, at which time Sarkozy declared, "I cannot stand him, he is a liar." According to the report, Obama replied, "You're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!" The remark was naturally meant to be said in confidence, but the two leader's microphones were accidentally left on, making the would-be private comment embarrassingly public. The communications faux pas went unnoticed for several minutes, during which time the conversation between the two heads of state - which quickly reverted to other matters - which was all but open to members of the press, who were still in possession of head sets provided by the Elysee for the sake of simultaneous translation during the G20 press conference. "By the time the media services at the Elysee realized it, it was on for at least three minutes," one journalist told the website. Still, he said the reporters "did not have time to take advantage of this fluke." The surprising lack of coverage may be explained by a report alleging that journalists present at the event were requested to sign an agreement to keep mum the embarrassing comments. A Reuters reporter was among the journalists present and can confirm the veracity of the comments. A member of the media confirmed Monday that "there were discussions between journalists and they agreed not to publish the comments due to the sensitivity of the issue." He added that while it was annoying to have to refrain from publishing the information, the journalists are subject to precise rules of conduct.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov
RT.com (excerpts): A military strike against Iran over its nuclear program would be a serious mistake with unpredictable consequences, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said. Lavrov pointed out that there is no military solution to international conflicts, as it can only increase the number of victims. "We get evidence to that every day when we see how problems around Iran are being solved: whether it's in Iraq or Afghanistan, or what is happening in other countries of that region," the minister said on Monday, speaking at a joint media conference with its Irish counterpart Eamon Gilmore. The top Russian diplomat stressed that any conflict can only be solved on the basis of principles approved by the international community and established by the United Nations Charter. The international law allows states to use force only in self defense or when there is a respective resolution by the UN Security Council.
The comment followed last week's remarks by Israeli President Shimon Peres, who referred to Iran as "the greatest danger" for Tel Aviv and the entire world and added that the military action against the Islamic Republic may be taken soon.
Meanwhile the Washington Post, citing diplomatic sources, reported on Monday that UN nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, obtained information that Iran could have advanced on its way to the creation of nukes with the help of foreign specialists, including a "former soviet weapons scientist." It is alleged that he "tutored Iranians over several years on building high precision detonators of the kind used to trigger a nuclear chain reaction." It is also stated that experts from Pakistan and North Korea provided the Iranians with technology that helped the Islamic Republic to propel "to the threshold of nuclear capability."
The Iranian side claims that the documents which supposedly prove that the Islamic state had progressed in the development of nuclear weapons are forged. Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi noted that Americans had published similar data in the past. Commenting earlier on the US accelerating plans to launch a strike against Iran, he said that Tehran was "prepared for the worst" and expressed hope that Washington "will think twice before they put themselves on a collision course with Iran. The US has unfortunately lost wisdom and prudence in dealing with international issues. It depends only on power," the media quoted Salehi as saying.
Commentary: First, Russia is so very proud and arrogant that if any of its neighboring countries shot missiles into Russia constantly, and continuously threatened to "wipe Russia off the face of the map," as the Muslims in Gaza and the Muslims in Iran do against Israel, namely Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Russians wouldn't think twice about it, that country would be wiped out in a few moments - no hesitation! America would do the same! Second, as for Israel waiting for the United Nations to properly address the matter of Iran's constant threats against Israel and their formulation of nuclear weapons - forget it. The "United Nations" is dominated by Muslims and they aren't going to do a thing, not one thing to help Israel. Before they (the UN) even open their mouths to discuss the Islamic hatred in Iran and Iran's plans to annihilate Israel, Iran will have launched nuclear bombs into Israel. Just by their decision to keep Iran as a member nation, while Ahmadinejad threatens to "wipe Israel off the face of the map," is a shameful open display of the UN's utter uselessness in the world. They could be better named the "Useless Nations." What "UN Security Council" do you suppose Lavrov is referring to? The one that sits idly by while the Arab nations surrounding Israel are chopping limbs and cutting people's heads off in the name of Sharia Law? They have no real security council that cares about humanity. Most of the UN nations support Sharia Law.
The Russians aren't idiots; they know exactly what they are suggesting, at the risk - or even the purpose - of Israel's demise. They are fully aligned with Iran and, in fact, the Bible tells us that Russia (Gog) will come against Israel in these last days (Ezekiel 38), and they will be defeated! In fact, it would be of benefit to Mr. Lavrov to read Ezekiel 39, where Ezekiel prophesies that it will take seven months to bury the dead army of Russia in the land of Israel.

Israel Today: A senior American military official on Friday told CNN that the Obama Administration is "absolutely concerned" that Israel may soon strike Iran's nuclear facilities. The official insisted that the US itself has no intention of attacking Iran (though other reports suggest otherwise), and said there is no guarantee Israel will notify Washington before launching its own military operation. Next week, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is scheduled to publish a report that all but confirms Iran is building nuclear bombs. Many believe that report will mark the dreaded "point of no return," obligating Israel to use military intervention against the Iranian nuclear program, as it did against Iraq in 1981 and Syria in 2007. In an interview with Israel's Channel 2 News on Friday, Israeli President Shimon Peres strongly hinted that Israel is closer than ever to striking Iran and that the time for diplomatic efforts is nearly over. "It seems Iran is moving closer to having a nuclear weapon," Peres said. "In the time that remains, we need to turn to the nations of the world and tell them that the time has come to fulfill their promise and their responsibility, which is about more than imposing sanctions. We must do what should be done to stop Iran." Many Israeli officials are irritated that the discussion over whether or not to attack Iran has entered the public domain. The obvious preparations for such an eventuality has all Israelis a little on edge.
Commentary: King David prophesied about the nations gathering together against Israel, and their declaration, "Come, let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more" Psalm 83:4. The president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad consistently declares that "Iran will wipe Israel from off the face of the map." God said, "I will bless those who bless you (Israel) and curse those who curse you and in you all the nations of the earth will be blessed" Genesis 12:3. Just as the yet feeble troops of Israel, who were outnumbered on all sides, defeated those who came against him (Egypt, Jordan and Syria) during the Six Day War in 1967, Israel will again defeat all of his enemies who devise to come against him. The Word of God says, "Thus says the Lord God, I will gather you (Israel) from the people and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered and I will give you the land of Israel" Ezekiel 11:17. Speaking of Israel in the latter days, after He has gathered them from among all nations, God said, "So you will know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain, then Jerusalem will be holy and no strangers will pass through her anymore" Joel 3:17. In other words, once God has returned the Jews to Israel, no strangers will possess that land again. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is waging a losing battle, not against Israel, but against God Himself, and he will lose; all of the Muslim nations that come against Israel in these last days will lose; God has declared it in His Holy Word.

In a classified US Military document titled, "Handling the Qu'ran," a set of protocols are to be followed by military prison guards: 1) Clean latex gloves will be put on in full view of the detainee prior to handling the Qu'ran. 2) Two hands will be used at all times signaling respect and reverence. 3) Care should be used so that the right hand is the primary one used to manipulate part of the Qu'ran due to cultural association with the left hand. 4) Handle Qu'ran at all times as if it were a fragile piece of delicate art. 5) Ensure the Qu'ran is not placed in offensive area, such as the floor, near the feet, or dirty wet areas.
VOANews.com (exerpts taken from article dated 9/8/10): US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called plans by a small Florida evangelical church to burn copies of the Qu'ran on September 11, a "disrespectful, disgraceful act." Her comments Tuesday came during a dinner at the State Department to observe Iftar, the breaking of the daily fast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
CNN World (excerpts): US Military personnel threw away and ultimately burned confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans, a Defense Department spokesman said Tuesday. Troops at posts in war zones are required to burn their trash Lt. Col. Mark Wright said.
Commentary: Since Qu'rans might be used to convert Americans, should they be burned in the United States? No? Do you detect bigotry, discrimination and down right abominations committed by the Obama administration against the Holy Bible, Christians and the United States of America?! The Holy Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...and the Word was made flesh (Jesus) and dwelt among us (we saw His glory, the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth" John 1:1,14. "He who despised Moses's law died without mercy under two or three witnesses. How much sorer punishment do you suppose he will be thought worthy who has trodden under foot the Son of God and has counted the blood of the covenant, whereby he was sanctified, an unholy thing and has spited the Spirit of grace?" Hebrews 10:29. To sum this all up: Jesus is the Word of God and Hebrews 10:29 says that a person who treads "under foot" the Son of God is worthy of a worse punishment than death (that would be hell). Bottom line, unless Obama and all of those involved repent of what they did to these Bibles, they are going to burn in hell forever. That's scripture, not me. "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather refrain from wrath, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'" Romans 12:19. Do you know what the Muslims did after Pastor Terry Jones burned a Qu'ran? They beheaded, yes, sliced the heads off of two United Nations employees in Afghanistan, after killing about 20 others! A true Christian would not touch a hair on the head of anyone who burns a Bible, but I can tell you that God is going to put those people into hell fire to burn forever, "The wicked will be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God" Psalm 9:17. If you have participated in such things, it is time to repent and call on the mercy of God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel is merciful and He will forgive. Allah is hateful and he will not forgive, nor do those who serve him.

USGS: A major 6.9 earthquake hit northeast of Taiwan on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 02:59:06 UTC, at a depth of 209.5 km (130.2 mi).
Commentary: There have been three major quakes in the last week and we continue experiencing record-breaking major quakes throughout the earth, not to mention record-breaking minor (<5.9) quakes as well. Jesus said these things will happen before His return, "Nation will rise against nation; kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.
