DailyMail.co.uk (excerpts): Fresh violence flared around the UK last night as police were braced to use plastic bullets for the first time on the British mainland in a belated bid to reclaim the streets. After three days of humiliating mob rule, senior officer finally acted to halt the feral thugs responsible for the orgy of violence, arson and looting. Stung by police outrage and political anger, the Metropolitan Police cancelled all leave and flooded London with 16, 000 officers - nearly three times as many as were deployed on Monday night when mobs ran amok - and promised tougher tactics. However, last night there were disturbances in Manchester, where a Miss Selfridge Shop was set on fire, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, and Nottingham. There was also trouble in Enfield and Eltham in London. In Salford, youths smashed shop windows in the shopping center and looted businesses. Around 20 police officers stood guard around the entrance to Hackney town hall, on Mare Street in East London, which had to be evacuated yesterday afternoon amid fears of further attacks. Managers decided to shut the Southside shopping center in Wandsworth, South London, to avoid the risk of looting and violence. David Cameron, forced to return early from holiday, announced that Parliament would be recalled tomorrow for an emergency debate. The prime minister warned those responsible for the sickening scenes of people looting, vandalizing, thieving, robbing, that they would face the "full force of the law." "These are sickening scenes - scenes of people looting, vandalizing, thieving, robbing, scenes of people attacking police officers and even attacking fire crews as they are trying to put out fires. This is criminality pure and simple and it has to be confronted and defeated. I feel huge sympathy for families who've suffered, innocent people who have been burned out of their homes and to businesses who have seen their premises smashed, their products looted and their livelihoods potentially ruined." Huge swaths of the capital had woken yesterday to the charred debris of burned-out buildings and streets littered with waste after flashpoints in Croydon, Clapham, Notting Hill, Ealing, Hackney, Dalston, Peckham, Woolwich and Lewisham.
Commentary: Too little too late, I think. I watched some videos, as the rioters kicked this thing off and it was pitiful to watch the police running here and there and even being backed up by rioters. It appears that with all of this rioting, I mean serious rioting going on in so many cities throughout Britain, the youth there are very out of control and have a volatile mind-set. Well, I have to say it again: Take God out of the schools, put sex education into the primary schools, take away the ability of parents and teaches to discipline, and what do you have? You can put two and two together. Are you aware of how youths behaved in the 50s and 60s? Compare those children to these: polite and respectful vs. riotous, rebellious, tyrannical, violent brats. Can we see the connection here: God fearing vs. Godless. The Bible says, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord and the people He has chosen for His inheritance" Psalm 33:12. On the other hand, "The wicked will be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God" Psalm 9:17. Don't those police officers sort of look like ice cream men in their little checked hats? When you don't have the Holy Ghost and fire with you to fight the forces of hell, you might look like ice cream men in the midst of all the madness. Obviously, men do not realize what they are dealing with when they set the forces of hell loose by their choices and rejection of God. Oh, by the way, on the same day that Britain's Minister of the Middle East condemned Israel for building housing units in East Jerusalem, the riots broke out. "Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are" Romans 6:16. * Please read the article below...

Fco.gov.uk: Britain's Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Alistair Burt, comments on the Israeli Interior Ministry's announcement that over 900 housing units will be constructed in East Jerusalem. Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Alistair Burt, said on Friday: "I condemn yesterday's announcement by the government of Israel to approve the construction of over 900 housing units which will expand significantly the 'illegal settlement' of Har Homa in East Jerusalem. Unilateral actions such as this undermine international efforts to build lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians and make the two-state solution harder to achieve. At a time when Israel's friends are working to restart negotiations, this decision is deeply concerning."
Commentary: I just sent an email to Mr. Burt, asking him what he doesn't understand about the fact that the Palestinians constantly chant "death to Israel" and the fact that they constantly launch missiles into Israel; or what it is that he doesn't understand about the fact that their leaders constantly threaten to run the Jews into the ocean. I couldn't help myself; at the end of my email I wrote, "Hello, is anyone home?" I think Satan has simply turned the lights out in the minds of many of these Godless leaders; they are just as blind as bats and can't see anything in front of their face. "The disciples went to Jesus and told Him that the Pharisees were offended by what He said. He answered and said, 'Every plant that my Father in heaven has not planted will be rooted up. Leave them alone; they are blind leaders of the blind. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch'" Matthew 15:12-14. Speaking of the blind falling into a ditch, did you know that the same day that Burt gave this speech, riots broke out in Britain and they have continued now for six days, nonstop? Hummm, I suppose God didn't like what Mr. Burt had to say either!

Obama extends the right hand of fellowship to Ahmadinejad, as Ahmadinejad threatens Israel, now the US
WorldNetDaily.com: Iran is planning to retaliate against the United States for the sabotage against its nuclear program, according to an editorial in the Kayhan newspaper, the mouthpiece of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The US has all of its infrastructure connected to the internet, the editorial says, and as a result, "it is constantly worried about an unknown player, who they will never be able to identify...sitting in some corner of the world who would launch an attack on a sector of the Americans' foundations. They will be taught the mother of all lessons." Specifically, Iran is looking into launching a cyber attack against the US electrical grid systems. Iranian officials are furious over the July 23 assassination of of nuclear scientist Dariush Rezai-Nejad, who was working on electric detonators for the Iranian nuclear program, which can be used on missiles or nuclear bombs. He was the third Iranian nuclear scientist assassinated since 2009. The frustration over acts of sabotage started with the computer virus Stuxnet in which 1,000 of Iran's centrifuges at the Natanzs nuclear facility were destroyed and had to be replaced. The virus also attacked the Bushehr nuclear power plant, which has resulted in repeated delays in its joining the county's power grid. The July 29 Kayhan editorial threatening America with retaliation said that during the last month, the United States has published two strategy documents regarding cyberspace, both of which emphasize the ever-evolving nature of internet communications. The first document signed by President Obama lays out the country's strategy on cyberspace, states that the internet epitomizes great opportunity and says it is not viewed as a threat to the United States, the editorial says. It adds that, "it can be suggested that the US can play a leadership role in cyberspace, in that the US would create and maintain that position for the long term." Then, the editorial takes direct aim at Washington: "The second document is brimming with the over-confidence and hyper-intellectual posturing of the first. These documents, which the Pentagon published two weeks ago, use straight-forward war vernacular and (the Pentagon) has openly announced that from here on in, cyberspace will be considered a new war zone. "The laughable part of this document is when the neurotic American generals threaten hackers sitting behind their computers who attack America. They should be careful that a cruise missile does not fly in through their heating pipes to destroy their turf." The United States is no longer the unequivocal leader of the internet, the editorial says. "Diverse and interesting players have now come on the scene and have managed to inflict some costly and unprecedented damages on the American internet infrastructure... Due to the convenient global nature of the 'players,' their network operates outside time and space. They can be anywhere from right under Mr. Obama's ear in Washington, D.C., to the depths of the African desert." The editorial accuses the Americans, with the help of Israelis and Germans, of creating the Stuxnet virus to attack the Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities. "Americans are under the mistaken impression that they are the only ones who can strike violent blows against their most ardent opponents and not sustain any real damage," the editorial warns. Earlier this year, Iranian officials announced that Iran's cyber war campaign would be activated under the Passive Defense Organization of Iran, which openly recruited hackers who would support the goals and ideals of the radicals ruling Iran. Also, as reported earlier, in a recent meeting among Iran's Revolutionary Guard commanders and Iranian scientists, America's vulnerabilities for cyber attack were discussed. They concluded that the US power grids represent the best opportunity for such attacks, as more US utilities are moving their control systems to the internet and using smart-grid technology. According to reports from the US Department of Energy, America's power grid remains vulnerable to cyber attack, a result of slow implementation of computer security standards. A successful cyber attack on North America power grid systems could disrupt the economy and possibly create a national trauma. Commentary: With the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in ultimate power and Ahmadinejad at the helm, nothing should surprise us about what is said in their mainstream news article about attacking our electrical grid; after all, they do hate the US and consistently refer to the United States as the "Big Satan." This type of publication is akin to Obama publishing in the Chicago Tribune that he intends to crash the electrical grids of all Russia - for real! Wouldn't you ask yourself, "If the leaders of Iran hate the United States and say they want to annihilate the US and Israel (often chanting this in unison throughout mass public gatherings), why is Barack Hussein Obama and the United Nations so 'chummy' with Iran and Ahmadinejad?" In the meantime, Obama's budget and spending break all records in US history, while the jobless rate keeps climbing, we have lost our AAA credit rating for the first time in US history, we are bankrupt, and he keeps sending billions to the Arabs; does this all sound just a tiny bit fishy to you? Do the globalist elitists really care about the economy or national trauma? No, not really, in fact something like this could be the means to their plans to reduce the US population. Does that sound far fetched? You are very naive, if you think so. The rich have resources and accommodations planned in such events; but the elderly, poor, and children would all suffer the most. Just think of it, the gas and electricity goes off and water stops pumping into homes in very low or sub-zero temperature winter throughout the US. Who do you think is going to suffer, really? It won't be the rich, and the world is quickly losing the natural resources to accommodate all of us. If you haven't heard about it yet, I recommend you surf the internet, YouTube, or the News Videos page of this site about depletion of our natural resources and depopulation. Have you asked yourself why, when it comes to cutting government spending, they don't cut things we can all live without, such as nonessential items? Not a chance! The first items on the agenda include Medicare (without many of these services, the elderly will die. Do they care)? Will they cut some space exploration or research before they will cut off a poor old person's medication or other essential aids, like in the home supportive services for the disabled, etc, etc? No! That's not on the depopulation agenda. The Bohemian "cremation of care" is not about relaxing and tossing the "cares of life" aside; it is more about "desensitization to the cries of the dying population" - when their agenda picks up full swing. If you aren't familiar with what I am talking about, do yourself a favor and Google "cremation of care." Our president deliberately makes friendly gestures towards those who hate America, because he is not greatly concerned about it. In fact, given the opportunity, he will still boldly say, "We are not at war with Islam, nor will we ever be at war with Islam." He has an agenda, and so do they. The Bible says, "Do not be deceived, evil communications corrupt good manners" 1 Corinthians 15:33. "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people" Proverbs 14:34. "Better is a poor and wise child than an old and foolish king, who will not be admonished" Ecclesiastes 4:13.
When issues come up about the negligence of our president and leaders of this nation and foolish alliances with violent terrorist countries, I do tend to repeat myself. Nevertheless, no one can say I didn't warn readers, as Bible prophecy is fulfilled because of the sins of this nation and the world. I have my candles, butane lighters, matches, stored water containers, wood for heat and cooking, warm clothing and plenty of blankets, as well as other resources and defense mechanisms on hand. I know the Lord is coming soon, but we do not know the day or the hour, according to the scriptures (Matthew 24:36), so it is only wise to be prepared, until the Lord does return. Are you prepared, just in case? For more information on preparedness, please visit the Warnings page.

Police stand in line as a fire rages in Tottenham.
English.alijazeera.net (excerpts): Riots have spread to new areas of London while looting erupted in the cities of Burmingham, Liverpool and Bristol, as Britain's worst violence in decades extended into the third night. Shops and cars were set ablaze across London late on Monday and early Tuesday, as authorities struggled to contain the unrest in the capital city which will host next summer's Olympic games. Looting by groups of hooded youths spread to Ealing in west London and Camden in the north. Television pictures showed groups of men running through the streets and smashing shop windows. They also set fire to buildings in Croydon, a south London suburb, and Clapham, where they looted shops and cash machines and set fire to at least one shop. Local residents in Croydon were evacuated due to the spreading fire, while the Guardian newspaper quoted a nearby officer as admitting, "We can't cope. We have passed a breaking point." London fire brigade received 264 emergency calls overnight Saturday and attended 49 fires in the Tottenham area. The violence which began in the north Tottenham district on Saturday, also spread to Peckham and Lewisham. In Peckham, flames leapt into the air from a torched building, while rubble was strewn across the street. People walked in and out of shops looting. Police with riot shields responded by charging them as they tried to seal off an area around Hackney Central station in the east of the city. Dozens of officers have now been deployed to the streets of Hackney. Wealthy neighborhoods were not spared with rampagers forcing their way into Michelin-starred restaurant. The Ledbury in Notting Hill before stealing diners phones, plates off the tables, and attempting to take the till. Al Jazeera correspondent Barnaby Philips, reporting from Totterham, said lots of people are out on the streets, but there is anguish and dismay about what has happened in this country over the weekend. People realize jobs, property and investments have been damaged for years to come and they are very distraught about it. The initial case of violence in Hackney is said to be the use of "stop and search" power on black youths by the police. A large proportion of the black community in London believes the police use "stop and search" powers too much. They feel they have been unfairly stopped using these powers. As the police struggled to contain the spiraling disorder, the ordered London football clubs to call off matches. The violence which is unrelated to football began near Tottenham's ground in north London over the death of Mark Duggan, a 29-year-old man who was shot dead by the police on Thursday. Very few details of Duggan's death has been released. Tottenham is a deprived area. "Unemployment is very, very high...they are frustrated," Uzodinma Wigwe, 49, said, who lost his job as a cleaner recently.
Commentary: Anyone who is up to date on Christian-related news, knows that Britain has been on a spiritual downward spiral for quite some time. Hundreds of churches have been closed in recent years and many have been turned into mosques. There are 85 Shariah courts in Britain and most of the population is agnostic or Muslim. The anger of the Lord rises against those who forsake Him, "My anger will be kindled against them in that day and I will forsake them and I will hide My face from them and they will be devoured and many evils and troubles will befall them, so that they will say in that day, Has not this evil come upon us because our God is not among us?" Deuteronomy 31:17. God pronounced this to backsliding Israel, but the same anger is kindled against all nations that depart from God. "The wicked will be turned into hell and all nations that forget God" Psalm 9:17. "There will be signs in the sun and in the moon and stars, and nations will be in distress with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring" Luke 21:25.

As I opened my email account today, I glanced at the "Top News Stories," as I always do, before I get to the mail. Here they are, lined up in this order on my screen:
* Pressure grows for Fed to act as stocks plunge
* Obama calls for a "renewed sense of urgency" to solve debt problems
* Lifelong friends killed in Afghan chopper crash
* Africa famine: "hundreds of thousands of kids could die"
* UK's Cameron cancels vacation amid London riots
Sometimes there is even a bit of neutral or good news within the list of Top Stories, but not anymore it seems. This is directly in line with Bible prophecy and should be no surprise, at least to those of us who are familiar with Bible prophecy. I speak with some people who are absolutely not interested in Bible prophecy, and get this, some of them are "Christians." They are too busy looking for good times, relaxation, peace and what they can buy or do next on the agenda to help themselves feel much better. That sounds fair, after all, we have to live in this world and might as well try to make the best of it, right?
There is no scripture in the Word of God that tells us that we shouldn't live the most peaceful lives we can and there are scriptures in the Bible about prospering materially, as well as spiritually: "Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers" 3 John 1:2. There is nothing wrong with prospering financially, being in good health, and having peace. What we pursue in this life though must be measured by the Word of God: "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you" Matthew 6:33. If we are trusting in God, who created us and who loves us, we will not be preoccupied with gain, but rather God's will and first how we can bless and minister to others. The only way to gain true peace in the turbulent world we live in today is to know who our God is and to keep in close touch with Him on a daily basis.
The Bible tells us, "There will be...distress of nations with perplexity" Luke 21:25. The reason the world is in distress is because most of the people on this planet do not know who God is and they do not seek to live according to God's commandments. The Word of God tells us, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you..." Hosea 4:6. "The wicked will be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God" Psalm 9:17. I don't write about all of the catastrophic events happening in the world today and bring out the scriptures which correlate with all of these events just to stress people or make them feel bad. I am pointing these things out to encourage people to get right with God. "If my people which are called by My name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" 2 Chronicles 7:14. This is a promise to Israel, but it also applies to the entire world; the New Testament bears this out: "There is no difference between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all who call upon Him" Romans 10:12. Our only hope today is to call upon the name of the Lord. The Word of God says, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" Romans 10:13. You don't have to be afraid of what is coming next. God promises peace to His people, "The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:7. Do you know the Lord today? Do you know if you will go to heaven if you die today? If not, I would like to invite you to the How Can I Be Saved page of this website. God bless you.

Some beheadings by your friendly Muslims (I do apologize for the graphics, nevertheless, I must get this message across one way or the other. I know of no other way, but the gruesome truth!).
TheAustralian.com (excerpts): The spokesman for Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, which portrays itself as a moderate Islamic movement, has called for execution and hand amputations if the Mubarak's are found guilty of murder and corruption. "If a man has stolen millions of the state's money, the penalty is that I must cut off his hand," said Mahmoud Ghuzlan, a professor of biochemistry at Zagazig University. "There is no argument. These are god's words." The group, banned for a half a century, was legalized only after the fall of former president Hosni Mubarak. Professor Ghuzlan said the penalty of amputation, mandated under Shariah law, should apply to his son's Gamal -- the younger, who was being groomed as heir -- and Alaa, a business man. In a scene that transfixed the nation last week, the two brothers, both charged with profiteering, stood in court, as the father lay on a trolley next to them. The senior Mubarak charged with responsibility for the deaths of about 850 protesters killed by his security forces, periodically craned his neck forward to peer from the defendant's cage out at the court. Professor Ghuzlan had no sympathy. Mr. Mubarak should be hanged if convicted, although "beheading by the sword would be more traditional," he said. Muslim Brotherhood rule would evidently be harsh.
Commentary: Just how many Muslim nations in the world have honest, humble, upright, moral leaders? I'm not defending any wrong that Mubarak did as president of Egypt, yet I would probably say to these terror-mongers, "Whoever among you is innocent, let him cut off the first hand of Mubarak!" At least Mubarak has been at peace with Israel for 30 years. Now the country has been overtaken by the Muslim Brotherhood, with the help of President Barack Hussein Obama, and now they want to chop hands and heads! I found a website during my research today which embedded a video showing several Muslim children beheading a man while praising allah! I did not watch the video, nor will I make any reference to the website, even though it is an anit-Muslim site, because no one should watch such evil and horror. "It is a shame to even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret" Ephesians 5:12. Muslim children are taught from a young age how to kill people in the name of allah! This is why by the time they are an adult, they have no conscience about it whatsoever. People are tortured and killed horrifyingly in the squares of Muslim nations, for all to see, when someone breaks Shariah law. Will you face the truth? If not, you could be their future victim. The Word of God tells us that during the tribulation period, the Antichrist will behead people, Revelation 20:4. This time is coming very rapidly and you can even see the same spirit working, and beheading people, in the world right now.

"Better is a poor and wise child, than an old and foolish king who will not be admonished" Ecclesiastes 4:13.
FoxNews.com (excerpts): The United States has lost its sterling credit rating. Credit rating agency Standard & Poors on Friday lowered the nations AAA for the first time since granting it in 1917. The move came less than a week after a gridlocked Congress finally agreed to spending cuts that would reduce the debt by more than $2 trillion - a tumultuous process that contributed to convulsions in financial markets. The promised cuts were not enough to satisfy S&P. Speaker John Boehner issued a statement saying that the downgrade is "the latest consequence of overspending by Washington." The Dow Jones industrial average fell 699 points this week; the biggest weekly drop since October 2008. "The market's already been shaken out," Harvey Nieman said. "I knew it was coming."
Commentary: "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people" Proverbs 14:34. Okay, there is one objective down, and I wonder how many more to go and what is next on Obama's agenda for bringing the nation to ruin. If you read Dinesh D'Souza's book, "The Hidden Rage of Barack Obama," you may better understand why this man intends to destroy America; that is his objective. With the jobless rate at an all time high, the national debt at an all time high, the White House administration's spending/budget at an all time high, the loss of America's excellent credit rating for the first time (since a credit rating was given to America); do you need more? Wonderful; read the book! In fact, if you want to know more about his evil intentions for America, read the books he authored himself, "Dreams of My Father" and "Audacity of Hope." Here are some quotations for you: From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." From Dreams of My Father: "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race (she was white)." From Dreams of My Father: "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was integrating myself to whites." This is our president, as bigoted, Muslim, and AntiAmerican as you can get! He sat for 20 years under the same pastor, Jeremiah Wright, who made such quotes as, "Whites are liars," "G- - damn America - for killing innocent people," "G- - damn America for treating our citizens as less than human," "G- - damn America, as long as she acts like she is G- -....." (source - en.wikipedia.org). Can you imagine a minister shouting these slogans from a pulpit, in a church no less?? When the media connected Obama to his raging, bigoted pastor, Jeremiah Wright, he (Obama) began withdrawing himself from Wright. When he was questioned by the media, he said he was "outraged" and "saddened" by his behavior and in May, he resigned his membership from the church. These messages are nothing new; Jeremiah Wright has not changed his messages in the 20 years that Barack Obama attended the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where Jeremiah Wright pastored (source - en.wikipedia.org). How odd that he has withdrawn from Wright since his presidency and resigned from membership now! Why didn't he withdraw from the man 20 years ago? Too late! Your sentiments are known, Barack Hussein Obama! You hate whites; you are a Muslim, and like many Muslims; you hate America! This man's hate is all through his books and is even revealed through his church attendance and the bigoted pastor he sat under for 20 years! Some people will still make excuses for him. If you want to see America take the final dive, go ahead and vote for him during the next election. I pray for the man, but unless he gets saved, he is "hell bent" and bringing the nation with him.

Yahoo.com (excerpts): Tens of thousands of Somalis have flooded Mogadishu refugee camps in search of food as the nation fights East Africa's worst drought in 60 years and ruling militants who are blocking aid from Western countries. Yahoo news spoke to a reporter who is in Somalia and has seen first-hand what it's like in the refugee camps of the war-torn and famished country. "There was no food - no help. There are kids dying left and right - I'm not exaggerating. They buried 12 on the day I visited," said Jason Straziuso, a reporter for the Associated Press. "The most touching thing so far has been when this small child waved at me yesterday. I stuck my head in her tent and she was lying motionless, flies flying everywhere and she sort of stuck her head up and waved at me," he said. "That put a lump in my throat because I don't know that she is going to get better, in fact, I think she has a good chance of not getting better." African Union forces have launched an offensive to keep aid agencies safe as they bring food and supplies to the thousands of refugees in Mogudishu. World Vision is working to bring relief to Mogudishu, one of the very few aid agencies in East Africa. If you wish to donate, please follow this link: World VisionCommentary: For more information, photos and videos, please visit the Famine page of this website. Jesus said, "I was hungry and you gave me no meat, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not take me in, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me. Then they will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry, thirsty, a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison and did not minister to you? Then He will answer them, saying, Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did not do it for the least of these, you did not do it for me" Matthew 25:42-45.

Associated Press (excerpts): Texas Governor Rick Perry sent a strong message to the nations evangelicals Saturday: he is a member of the important constituency for Republicans that he soon may call upon to help him secure the GOP presidential nomination. The state's longest serving governor hosted what he called a National Day of Prayer, an event at Reliant Arena that drew roughly 30,000 people and that was broadcast on cable Christian channels and the internet nationwide, including in at least 1,000 churches. "Father, our hearts break for America," Perry said in 12 minutes of remarks that included prayer and Bible passages - but no direct mention of politics or his presidential plans. "We see discord at home; we see fear in the marketplace; we see anger in the halls of government and, as a nation, we have forgotten who made us, who protects us, who blesses us." He asked Christians to turn to God for answers to the nations troubles and asked the audience to pray for the President, as well as for American troops killed in the weekend attack on a US helicopter in Afghanistan. The moment gave Perry a national spotlight before a pivotal voting group in the GOP nomination fight - in the early voting states of Iowa and South Carolina in particular - as he nears a decision on whether to run for president. His entrance in the field could shake up the contest before Perry could attract both social and economic conservatives at a time when the GOP electorate is unsettled with the current slate of candidates. Many have been campaigning for months and are trying to break out of the pack. Perry has been talking with potential donors, GOP operatives and party leaders about a possible run, but he has been tightlipped about just when he would announce a decision, although he plans to visit at least one early-voting state, South Carolina, over the next week. He plans to keep what aides say is a long-held commitment to headline a conservative conference in Charleston, SC, on August 13, as well as meet with activists in the state scheduled to host the South's first primary. The trip will put Perry in touch with voters and activists who would be influential to a Republican primary campaign, much like the Houston event on Saturday did. Perry's audience Saturday was filled with people who sang with arms outstretched in prayer - and wept - as Christian groups played music on stage. Perry himself huddled on stage in a prayer circle with several ministers who helped lead the event. It was Perry's idea and was financed by the American Family Association, a Tupelo, Mississippi-based group that opposes abortion and gay rights, and believes in the First Amendment, freedom of religion. "We feel that God moved on him to do this," said Gwen Courkamp of Houston, who plans to vote for Perry if he runs for president. The governor earned high marks from attendee Justine Schaefer, who said, "He'd get my vote... Today really impressed me. He showed that he is sensitive to the Lord's leading - to have this." Critics argued the event - called The Response - inappropriately blended politics and religion. Perry insisted that the event had no political motivation, though he did say during his remarks, "We pray for our nations leaders, Lord, for parents, for pastors, for generals, for governors, that you would inspire them in these difficult times." The other speakers focused primarily on prayer and redemption, though politics seeped in at times, tied to social issue policy. Dozens of people throughout the daylong event decried legalized abortion, while some also condemned gay marriage, although far fewer. Protesters gathered outside the arena to condemn the event. "The brand of Christianity being offered today is one of fear, and we want to let people know that God loves everyone, not to be afraid," said Dan De Leon, a pastor from the United Church of Christ in College Station, who wore his robe in near-100-degree heat. Rodney Hinds who drove to Houston from Amarillo waved a sign at traffic demanding "Pastor Perry Must Resign" and said, "He abused the power of his office by calling this event from his office from his office as governor." Whether that's true or not, this much is clear: Perry may have laid down a marker on Saturday with social conservatives that would allow him to enter the race as a candidate focused on jobs, but with credibility voters value. "He has the best record in the field on jobs and doesn't have to get off messages beefing up bona fides on social issues, since they are firmly established," said Mary Matalin, a former adviser during both Bush presidencies. Given Texas's recent uptick in jobs, that combination could make Perry a potentially strong challenger to Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who leads in national polls and has business credentials, but leaves cultural conservatives questioning his sincerity on their issues.
Commentary: It was specifically noted in this article that "there was no direct mention of politics or his presidential plans," yet critics are quick to bash him by saying the event was a blend of politics and religion - just because he is a politician, I suppose, but that doesn't make it so. Apparently, there are some that believe a governor shouldn't be able to attend the church or religious event of his choice! I would say that's discrimination, since the rest of us in the United States can do it. Is the governor not allowed to have a life? This is a man of spiritual conviction and integrity, unlike most. In fact, I recently sent him an email because of his open prayer during an earlier event, thanking him for making a stand and I encouraged him to run for president during the upcoming election - he would have my vote. As I read this article today, it brought tears to my eyes and my heart was very moved; his prayers are earnest and he is faithful to God in the spotlight. I love his boldness for God, which is rare in this world, especially in the political realm today. If the writer of this article is so devoid spiritually that he/she believes praying for political officials is mixing politics and religion - that is ridiculously sad and pathetic! All Christians pray for our political leaders, or at least we should. And this "pastor" De Leon..., apparently he doesn't even know the scriptures. Jesus said, "Fear not those who can kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him (God) who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" Matthew 10:28. Jesus also said, "I will forewarn you whom you should fear: Fear Him (God) who, after He has killed, has the power to cast into hell, yes, I tell you, fear Him" Luke 12:5. Jesus does love everyone; He gave his life's blood for all of us. Nevertheless, the Word of God tells us, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..." Psalm 111:10. There seem to be charlatans on about every corner these days. I hope this "pastor" learns the Word of God before he continues on in his current capacity.

TheExtinctionProtocol.WordPress.com: Subic, Zamales, Philippines - Three days of heavy rains have left a total of 79 families, or 310 individuals, homeless, as 77 houses were destroyed in landslides and mudflows in Sitio Malinta, Barangay Asinan Proper since Tuesday. From 24 families recorded affected by the initial mudslide triggered by heavy rains since August 2, the number of displaced families climbed Saturday to 79, a capital official said. The Zambales Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said there were two major landslides in the area - the first before dawn on Tuesday and the second around noon last Thursday. Since rain fell continuously for three days in the area, mudflows also contributed to damaging more houses and forced more families to flee their homes. Three temporary evacuation centers were set up for the affected families, as the assistance of food and other basic necessities are being distributed to the evacuees. These evacuation centers are at the chapel in Sitio Malinta, the Asinan Barangay Hall and the Asinan Senior Citizen's Hall. Rescue teams were deployed in the landslide to search for seven people initially reported missing after the first landslide. By Thursday afternoon, all of them were located alive and well. An undetermined number of landslide victims were taken to hospitals in Olongapo City for treatment of wounds and other nonlife-threatening injuries. Rogelio Mansano, 44, one of the victims, said the first landslide took them by surprise. "It was raining all night, then suddenly there was this crashing sound. When we went out of the house, dozens of houses were already buried around us. Our house was hit by the second landslide. Ours was one of around 10 or 15 houses that were buried," Mansano said. His neighbor, Estrelita Chuachingco, 58, said they were already alert by the time the second landslide hit their village. "Once we heard the crashing sound, we all ran out of the house. We saw Roger's (Mansano's) house destroyed by the landslide."
Commentary: Severe weather is affecting areas worldwide, with record-breaking rains and floods, storms and tornadoes and it doesn't appear to be letting up. "There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and stars; and distress of nations on the earth with perplexity, and the sea and waves roaring" Luke 21:25. These are signs that we are living in the last days before the coming of the Lord.
