MailOnline: It was like a scene from the end of the Titanic. A mournful cellist played Bach by the waters of the Souris River in Minot, North Dakota today, as the town fought to brace itself from the worst floods in 130 years. Today, the city prepared for the worst, as workers continued to bolster levees that stand between thousands of dry homes and the rising waters - which is expected to crest sometime after midnight tonight. Workers sweated over sandbags as levees were built up to six feet above the level of the rising waters. Officials were worried that the levees might not withstand a crest predicted to last several days.
My Comments: We need to pray daily for all of the victims throughout the world suffering these catastrophes, that people who are suffering themselves will call on the name of the Lord and get saved through their tragedies. God is truly our source of peace, comfort and substance in the time of need, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" Romans 10:13. "Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need" Hebrews 4:16. "My God will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:19.

Daily News and Analysis (excerpts): A massive downpour hit the city and flooded its roads and sidewalks, halting transportation and soaking many Bangaloreans to the bone on Saturday evening. The downpour led to sewage overflowing from open drains. Traffic officials in Frazer Town had a tough time controlling vehicular movements, as the rain brought everything to a standstill for over two hours. Water-logging at the end of Cox Town flyover left motorists stranded as their vehicles were submerged in rainwater. The downpour led to the city's infamous powercuts, leaving its residents in the dark. The heavy shower also displaced the covers of many manholes, letting out sewage. The BBMP control rooms received complaints of flooding in houses in low-lying areas, such as GM Palya, Marathahalli, Mahadevpura, Byrasandra, Indiranagar, Nagarbhavi, and OMBR Layout.
My Comments: I have never heard of as many floods throughout the world as I am hearing about now, catastrophic flooding like we have never seen in America, at least in my lifetime. Mississippi and a number of other states affected by the Mississippi River flooding is a record breaking flood; residents of North Dakota have not seen flooding like they are experiencing now in their lifetime, not since the 1800s, and the list goes on. The Midwestern states have suffered the worst storms they have ever seen, and which break all records since the early 1900s. Make no mistake, it is time to pray and make certain we are ready to face the Lord, because the return of Christ is near. "There will be great earthquakes in various places, famines, pestilences, fearful sights and great signs from heaven" Luke 21:11.

CBCNews (excerpts): Heavy rains close roads in B.C. Peace Region. Officials say there are six main closures, the most significant of which is the closure of highway 97, 52 km west of Chetwynd, B.C. Officials say approaches to the Fisher Creek Bridge have washed out, cutting highway access between Chetwynd and Mackenzie. The other main closures include 94 Avenue and Braden Road in the Dawson Creek area, as well as Moberly Lake Road South and Old Jackfish Road in the Chetwynd area. A significant rainfall warning continues in the North and South Peace, with an additional 10 to 20 millimeters of rain expected to fall Saturday. Areas near Pine Pass could potentially receive an additional 30 to 40 millimeters Saturday.
My Comments: As I finish this article, I am getting ready to place at least one more about flooding in Bangalore. There are so many areas flooding at the present, I probably won't get them all in tonight. North Dakota is still in bad shape and other nearby states such as Iowa are soon to be affected by the Canadian deluge from melting snow. We are living in perilous times and as the natural disasters continue with much more frequency, we know that the coming of the Lord is near, "There will be great earthquakes in various places, famines, pestilences, fearful sights and great signs from heaven" Luke 21:11.

World Net Daily: A Christian ministry's decision to expose as "false teachers" several celebrity ministers it believes are corrupting Biblical teachings has promoted a rift, with Jack Van Impe ministries dropping plans to work in the future with Trinity Broadcasting Network, where it has broadcast for more than two decades. "I will not be silenced! I will not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot preach," Van Impe said in a statement when TBN would not allow his program to air. "When I see heretical teaching leading to apostasy, I will speaking out," he said. "The Bible says 'All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness' (2 Timothy 3:16). The apostle Paul also gives instructions in Titus 1:9-11, 13 'Holding fast the faithful Word which he has been taught, that he might be able to exhort and convince the gainsayers by sound doctrine. There are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they should not teach, for filthy lucre's sake (for the sake of money), therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.'" Van Impe said he immediately called his medial agents and told them, "I no longer want to air my program on Trinity Broadcasting Network; we will take the tremendous amount of money that we are spending there to obtain new stations that will allow us to continue to reach every square mile of America with the truths of the Bible without this network." The dispute arose over the issue of advocating for "Chrislam" and other efforts that are designed to find "common ground" between Christians and Muslims. TBN declined to air one of Van Impe's programs that contained sharp criticisms of leaders such as Rick Warren of "The Purpose Driven Life" fame and Robert Schuller. In a statement from Van Impe Ministries today, Executive Director Kim Vancil said his organization rejected an effort by TBN to reinstate the programming and would work to develop alternative broadcast outlets where they were needed. "We would not be able to minister effectively if we had to look over our shoulder wondering if a program was going to be censored because of mentioning a name," Vancil said. "While there is hurt over this incident, we hold no animosity toward TBN. Dr. Van Impe has often expressed his appreciation to Paul and Jan (Crouch of TBN) and all that they have accomplished." But he confirmed that Paul Crouch Senior "cautioned" him as recently as Monday "regarding Dr. Van Impe's naming of names and publicly rebuking ministries and their teachings." The dispute erupted just last week, when Van Impe's ministry planned to air sharp criticism for Christians who say they want to "reach out" by incorporating belief's or practices of Islam into their Christian organizations. The program specifically mentioned Warren and Schuller, prompting TBN to prevent the broadcast. "We received a call from Matt Crouch of TBN informing us that they would not run that program....The reason he gave was that we specifically mentioned Rick Warren and Robert Schuller and that it is TBN's policy that broadcasters are not allowed to rebuke other ministries," Van Impe said. "This is a rather hypocritical statement in light of the fact that they have never said anything in the past when we have rebuked others such as Bishop Spong, Bishop Pike and in the past few months, Harold Camping and Rob Bell," he continued. The also stated that they would not run any future program where we offered our DVD, Reclaiming & Restoring Biblical Christianity as a premium for a donation to our ministry. A DVD that exposes false teachers and the heresies that they proclaim." TBN did not respond to WND's request for a comment on the dispute.
My Comments: "Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the last days some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils" 1 Timothy 4:1. Muslims deny the deity of Christ, therefore we have absolutely no foundation with their faith whatsoever, without giving up our own faith in Christ Jesus. Jack Van Impe is absolutely right. The Bible says, "Can two walk together, unless they agree?" Amos 3:3 We are living in the last days, before the return of Jesus, and the passage of 1 Timothy 4:1 speaks expressly about what is happening in the world today. The Bible says to "Mark those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned AND AVOID THEM" Romans 16:17. The reason we are to avoid them is because "evil influences corrupt" 1 Corinthians 15:33. This is the Word of God. Either we obey it and stay in the will of God, or disobey and end up corrupted. It is as simple as that. God is a serious God and His commandments and statutes were not given so we could go our own way; He expects "His children to obey His voice" John 10:27.

Reuters (excerpts): Minot, North Dakota - Flood waters swamped lower-lying areas of Minot, North Dakota on Friday and eclipsed a 130-year-old flooding record as federal officials sharply increased water releases to the swollen Souris River. With thousands of homes in the path of the flood, dispatched residents settled in for their second mandatory evacuations since just after Memorial Day with the prospect of potentially months in temporary housing. Up to a quarter of the 41,000 residents of North Dakota's fourth largest city were forced out of their homes on Wednesday afternoon. Outside those areas on Friday morning, streets were deserted, except for dump trucks moving material toward levees. By Friday evening, the brownish river water had risen to more than four feet above historic 1969 flooding residents had used as a benchmark, and topped the 1881 record by two feet. "It's dangerous and we need you to stay away and do as little travel as possible within the community," Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman told reporters. Zimbelman said about 2,500 homes were flooded by Friday afternoon within the city, some to their eaves, and that number would grow to 4,000-5,000 homes by the evening. Thousands more homes were flooded outside Minot. An enormous rush of water was expected to push the Souris, or Mouse, River levels at the Broadway Bridge in Minot as much as another four feet higher to a crest late on Saturday or early Sunday that would hold for three or four days. Amtrak has suspended Empire Builder passenger train service in parts of Minnesota, North Dakota and eastern Montana due to the widespread flooding.
The massive flooding at Minot has overshadowed temporarily the widening deluge along the Mississippi River that threatens cities from Montana through Missouri. Federal officials have pushed record water releases from six reservoirs along the Upper Missouri River that are near capacity because of a deep melting snowpack and heavy rains. Those reservoirs have little capacity for additional rain and record releases are expected to continue through August, causing widespread flooding in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. It will be some time until the water recedes and damage can be assessed, but state and local officials said the focus soon would shift to dealing with the toll on displaced residents.
My Comments: As the return of the Lord approaches, the Word of God tells us that there will be signs in heaven and on the earth. The Spirit of the Lord is warning people to pray and receive Jesus, while there is yet time, "I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath, blood, fire and vapor of smoke" Acts 2:19. We can see this through the numerous volcanic eruptions recently. Luke 21:11 also says, "There will be great earthquakes in various places, famines, pestilences, and there will be fearful sights and great signs in heaven."

My Comments: These major earthquakes are happening more frequently throughout the world as each day passes. Have you noticed that many island areas have been it recently? Major quakes have hit Santa Cruz Islands, Fox Islands, Solomon Islands, Kermadec Islands, South Island of New Zealand, Sandwich Islands, and there are many, many more listed with USGS that were not quite at the magnitude of 6 or above (major). This reminds me of a passage in Revelation, as John describes what he saw (prophetically) at the end of the age, "Heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together and every mountain and island were removed out of their places" Revelation 6:14. It should be clear to everyone who can read, see and discern spiritual things that the return of the Lord is near.

6/24/11: Sid Roth, host of It's Supernatural, interviewed Shira Sorko-Ram via videocam from Israel, and he has a short prelude to next week's episode of It's Supernatural playing on his website www.SidRoth.org. I learned something by watching his interview with Ms. Sorko-Ram this evening and it answered some very important questions for me. I have been trying to figure out why the United Nations is so very pro-Muslim in their decision making and constitutions; now I know why. Sid Roth asked Ms. Sorko-Ram what it's like living in Israel during much of the unrest and hostility from the surrounding nations. She responded by telling him that there are two major concerns among Israelis today: 1) Iran and Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who speaks just like Hitler did against the Jews. 2) The United Nations, because they are so Arab-dominated. She revealed that there are about 50 Arab member nations, plus approximately another 70 nations that are predominantly Muslim. There are 192 member nations in the UN and there are about 120 nations that are Muslim, or predominantly Muslim, so there you have it. She also said, "whatever the 'oil countries' direct, the other nations move with them." I have known for some time that the United Nations is pro-Muslim, but I have only been able to guess why that's the case, until now. We, and every other non-Muslim nation, are in a big heap of trouble, until the Lord returns - of course!
Shira Sorko-Ram and Sid Roth also discussed what the implications would be if the United Nations declares a Palestinian State in September, with or without a peace treaty. Ms. Sorko-Ram mentioned the prophecy in Joel 3, "I will gather all nations and will bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat and I will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land...Proclaim among the Gentiles, prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near, let them come up. Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears, let the weak say, I am strong. Wake up the heathen and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for it is there that I will sit to judge all the heathen around and about. The Lord will also roar out of Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth will shake, but the Lord will be the hope of His people and the strength of the children of Israel. You will know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain, then Jerusalem will be holy and strangers will not pass through her anymore. Egypt will be desolate; Edom will be a desolate wilderness for their violence against the children of Judah, because they shed innocent blood in their land. But Judah will dwell forever and Jerusalem from generation to generation." In other words, God is soon going to destroy the nations that have fought against Israel - end of case.

My Comments: Jesus said in Luke 21:11, "There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." If you are a Christian and waiting for the Lord's return, there shouldn't be any doubt in your mind that He is even "at the door." He told us in Matthew that we will know when the time is near, and we should have spiritual discernment. If you haven't received Jesus as your Savior and you believe these Words He spoke, but you are not ready to face eternity, I would like to invite you to the "How Can I Be Saved" page of this website.

HoweStreet.com (excerpts): We've been quite clear about what we think is going to happen in the coming months and years. We expect either a US government and Eurozone default leading to serious repercussions in the western world as entitlements, pensions, and banks all collapse leaving tens of millions destitute; or the US dollar to be hyperinflated to worthlessness, bringing down every other fiat currency in the world and causing massive problems, such as starvation, as modern systems of trade and transport break down. In either case, there will also be a deep serious depression of a magnitude much worse than in the 1930s. Symptoms of this are already being seen around the world. Food and commodity prices are skyrocketing led by fiat currency inflation around the globe, leading to food riots and shortages. In the US there are daily report of thieves stealing copper wire from power substations, power poles and church air conditioners, as the price of copper and all commodities soar due to the monetary inflation caused by the likes of Ben Bernanke. This, plus the realization that the American Empire, and all of its tentacles, are in collapse has lead to countless countries entering into revolutions. It is hard to keep track of the protests, riots, large scale mob fights and wars around the world. It is even harder to keep track because You Tube is complying with thousands of requests from governments to censor and remove videos that show protests, while also deleting search terms by government mandate. Just in the last few weeks, there have been riots and protests in the following countries: Greece, Spain, Yemen, Syria, China, Russia and others.
My Comments: I know, there are many who say, "Oh there goes another one of those Christian fanatics, ranting about the end of the world and economic collapses and such." I invite you to visit the SECULAR website that posted the article above, HoweStreet.com. Congressmen, such as Ron Paul (R-Texas) is speaking out with a resounding voice about the unlimited spending by the current administration and the soon coming collapse, if some urgent and drastic measures are not implemented fast. I believe Obama recently finished another game of golf, finishing his 41st game I believe since his inauguration. Jesus's disciples asked Him when He would return and what would be the sign of the end of the age. Jesus said in Matthew 24:7, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places." Sound like what's going on in the world today?
