Israel Today: While Israeli's from the right and left of the political spectrum argue over the future of Jerusalem, Palestinian leaders say the eastern half of the holy city is already in their hands. In his weekly radio address last week, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad announced that his government would soon resume administrative duties in eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods. Fayyad noted that the PA had already allocated half-a-million dollars to altering the curriculum in Arab schools in Jerusalem, and that it would also bolster health and judicial services.
This move is a direct violation of the Palestinians' signed agreements with Israel, which prohibit Palestinian administrative activity in Jerusalem. It is seen as part of the new Palestinian Authority strategy of unilaterally seizing control of the lands it claims and winning international backing for sovereignty over them. Of special concern are the changes to the curriculum in Arab schools. The new textbooks that Fayyad's government is bringing in deny the Jews' right to live in Israel and even contain excerpts of the infamous Czarist blood libel The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Fayyad claimed that with eastern Jerusalem in Palestinian hands, the city would become a symbol of peace and coexistence, but the schoolbook changes in particular show that the Palestinians are only interested in sowing the seeds of hate and continued conflict.
My Comments: One of two things will likely happen in the very near future, there will be a forced peace agreement, as foretold in the scriptures (Daniel 9), because of the Palestinians' aggressive attempt to take over Jerusalem; or this will bring about all out war in the Middle East by the surrounding Islamic nations against Israel. I am inclined to believe the former, because according to the scriptures, the seven year peace treaty will take place before all nations come against Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:2). Either way, the end of the age is at hand, because the gospel has been preached in every nation of the world (Matthew 24:14) and those who are not ready, need to repent and get right with God, while there is time. Hell is going to burn hot for eternity for those not standing for the Lord and with Israel when He returns, and His return is imminent, according to the scripture references I just gave. For those of us already watching and waiting, we need only look up, for our redemption draws nigh (Luke 21:28).

4/26/11, NTDTV News: Christians and religious freedom have suffered another blow in China. Dozens of "House Christians" were arrested on Sunday in Beijing while attempting to gather for Resurrection Day prayer. The arrests seem to be part of a concerted crack down on Christians who do not worship in churches sanctioned by the Chinese Communist Party. For millions of people across China, Resurrection Day went off without a hitch, but for those who do not worship in churches administered by the Chinese Communist Party, it was a different story. In a northwest suburb of Beijing, dozens of members of one church showed up at a location to begin services. The police were already waiting for them and quickly herded the Christians onto police buses. This church had called for outdoor services after they were evicted from their prior location during a CCP led antidescent campaign. Church leaders say they have no political agenda and are being targeted because they refuse to worship at CCP sanctioned churches. Head of the Texas-based ChinaAid association, Bob Fu, says "The crack down is not limited to this group in Beijing. There is a very large "House Church" with more than 1,500 church members in Mongolia; they were also under crack-down and at least more than a dozen leaders are now under criminal detention." Mr. Fu also mentioned prominent "House Christian" leaders were detained in another area. He hinted that "House church" members will keep showing up for outdoor services, despite recent arrests. "Even though the authorities continue to crack down, without guaranteeing freedom to those believers, the 'House Christians' will continue to worship outdoors, no matter what kind of pressure they face," said Mr. Fu. "House Christians" have been targeted by the regime in recent years and have suffered numerous civil and human rights abuses.

4/29/11, Fox News: Israel is raising a "red flag" over a policy shift in Egypt. Israeli officials are concerned about Egypt's government renewing relations with two of Israel's enemies, Hamas and Iran. There was speculation that democracy and good things were going to come to Egypt with the shift in government. Christian Whiton, Former State Department Senior Advisor, downplayed this new alliance, by stating that Egypt still honors their peace agreement with Israel and they have always had ties with Iran, but they have chosen to "deepen that relationship." The Fox News commentator said, "When you look at what's happening right now, with Turkey leaning toward Iran and Syria with Hezbollah, and with the Lebanese government turning toward a Hamas, it seems like the administration needs to come up with a plan and put it into place effectively." Mr. Whiton responded, "The administration is lost, they don't have an anti-Islamist policy. You need a policy to wage political warfare against Islamists across the region." Mr. Whiton continued by saying we aren't taking these steps.
My Comments: Anyone who thinks that Egypt is deepening relations with Iran and Hamas, but maintains an alliance with Israel as well is only whitewashing the situation, at best. I have to give Mr. Whiton credit for stating flat out that this administration is "lost." With all of the Muslim nations surrounding Israel aligning themselves together with Hamas, notoriously fanatical terrorists and antisemitic, you can very well see that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. The Word of God tells us that all nations will be against Israel in the last days, Zechariah 14:2-9.

4/28/11, Israel Today: Israel lost a dear Christian friend and supporter on Wednesday when David Wilkerson, Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, was killed in a tragic car accident near Dallas, Texas. Wilkerson is perhaps best known for his 1963 book, "The Cross and the Switchblade," which chronicled his earlier years ministering to drug addicts and gang members in New York. The book was eventually made into a hit movie starring Pat Boone, another staunch Christian supporter of Israel. In 2003, Israel Today editor, Aviel Schneider, had the privilege of interviewing Wilkerson during a visit to the UK, during which time, Wilkerson issued a warning to the nations which stand against Israel, stating, "God gave the land to Israel and every nation that wants to destroy Israel will be punished."

4/28/11, Israel Today: Just days after Palestinians police officers murdered a Jewish worshipper at Joseph's Tomb in Nablus, an Arab mob once again set fire to the burial place of the Biblical patriarch on Tuesday. It is unclear if the riot was in celebration over the killing of 25-year-old Ben Yosef Livnat, as he prayed at the shrine on Sunday, or in protest over ongoing Jewish visits to the holy site. It is not the first time Palestinians have burned and desecrated Joseph's Tomb, which in addition to housing the burial place of the Biblical figure, is also the site of a small yeshiva. The so called "Oslo Accords" signed between Israel and Palestine in 1995 stipulated that Joseph's Tomb would remain an Israeli controlled enclave open to Jewish worshippers and religious students. However, at the start of the Al Aqsa Intifada in 2000, a Palestinian mob backed by Palestinian Authority police officers assaulted Joseph's Tomb, killing an Israeli soldier in the process. Israel subsequently surrendered control of the site on the condition that the Palestinian Authority would protect and maintain it. Instead, the Palestinians immediately destroyed the domed tomb and set fire to the yeshiva. Numerous times over the past few years, visiting Jews have reported signs of fires, swastikas, and other graffiti and desecration of both the tomb and Jewish prayer books. The repeated assaults on Joseph's Tomb have not deterred some Jews from visiting the site on a regular basis, but their ability to do so has become increasingly difficult. On Wednesday, the Israeli army arrested a group of 30 Orthodox Jews determined to pray at Joseph's Tomb. Army officials said they cannot guarantee the safety of Jews who enter the site.

4/28/11, Fox News: Pleasant Grove, AL: Firefighters are searching one splintered pile after another for survivors Thursday, combing the remains of houses and neighborhoods pulverized by the nation's deadliest tornado attack in almost four decades. At least 297 people were killed across six states - more than two-thirds of them in Alabama, where large cities bore the half-mile wide scars the twisters left behind. The death toll from Wednesday's storms seems out of a bygone era, before Doppler radar and pinpoint satellite forecasts were around to warn communities of severe weather. Residents were told the tornadoes were coming up to 24 minutes ahead of time, but they were just too wide, too powerful and too locked into populated areas to avoid a horrifying body count. These were the most intense super-cell thunderstorms that I think anybody who was out there forecasting has ever seen," said meteorologist Greg Carbin at the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK. "If you experienced a direct hit from one of these, you would have to be in a reinforced room, storm shelter, or underground to survive," Carbin said. In Concord, a small town outside of Birmingham that was ravaged by a tornado, Randy Guyton's family got a phone call from a friend warning them to take cover. They rushed to the basement garage, piled into a Honda Ridgeline and listened to the roar as the twister devoured the house in seconds. Afterward, they could see outside through the shards of their home and scrambled out. "The whole house caved in on top of that car," he said. "Other than my boy screaming to the Lord to save us, being in that car is what saved us." "To me, it sounded like destruction," 22-year-old Son Justin said. "It was a mean, mean roar. It was awful." Greg Harrison's neighborhood was unscathed, but he remains haunted by the wind, thunder and lightning. "Sick is what I feel," he said. "This is what you see in Oklahoma and Kansas, not here in the South."
My Comments: This is "selective" judgment by God. As you can determine by one account in the above article, a man remembers his son calling on the Lord for help and the family was saved. We need to know that the Lord knew this child would be calling out for help and there is no doubt God was behind the neighbor's call, which saved the entire family's lives. This is God's hand of mercy in the midst of judgment. Many in this nation have turned their backs on God. Another man's entire neighborhood was spared, while there is devastation all around him. People, the Word of God is true and God determines who lives, who dies, who remains protected and who lies unprotected. These events remind me of scriptures in Psalm 91:7 "A thousand will fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you." Psalm 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him and I am helped, therefore my heart greatly rejoiced and with my song I will praise Him." Yes, the Lord will chastise the wicked, but rejoice, if you trust in the Lord, because He is your protector in the time of trouble. If you don't know Him, it is time to repent and receive the Lord, while there is time. II Corinthians 6:2 "...behold, now is the day of salvation." Tomorrow could be too late.

4/28/11: Since late last year, Christians in Iraq have been fleeing the country for refuge in the Kurdish-controlled region of the north, which has become "a slow but steady exodus" (BBC News). Sixty-eight people died when security forces stormed the Catholic church in Baghdad to free dozens of hostages held by militants in December 2010. Other bombings and attacks have occurred throughout Iraq, causing a mass exodus of Christians. In February 2011, hundreds of protesters burned churches and attacked a courthouse in Indonesia, after a Christian convicted of blasphemy received what was considered to be a lenient sentence. The rioting was only the latest of a string of incidents that is raising fears about the influence of radical Islamic groups. Just two days prior to this incident, one Muslim group killed three members of another Muslim group in Indonesia. There were 286 attacks against Christians in Indonesia last year.
My Comments: Little overall is being done to quell attacks against non-Muslims throughout the world. Teuku Faiza, a spokesman for the President of Indonesia said "differing views and protests are a part of democracy; it is not just the responsibility of the government, it is also the job of the religious leaders to promote peace and harmony." Talk about passing the buck! That sounds as bad as Barack Obama sending 700 million of our tax dollars to the Middle East to repair mosques after the 9/11 attacks here. Muslims are still very much a minority in the world overall, so I don't believe it is a matter our of having Muslim government officials throughout the globe, but I believe that by, in a sense, protecting or even promoting these radicals, by way of passing "hate crimes" laws, which are really pro-Muslim, governments can use them as a means to meet their own agenda, a One World Government. Think about it, every time laws are passed to "protect our security" and "protect the rights of Muslims," more and more of our personal freedoms are being eliminated. It is going to come right down to a dictatorship very quickly, according to the Word of God. Revelation 13:7 "Power was given to him over every tribe, people, tongue and nation."

4/27/11, World Net Daily: The "Certificate of Live Birth" document released by the White House today, if authentic, assures American's that their president was born in Hawaii, as he has said, but it also proves that he is ineligible to be president under the Constitution's requirements. According to Mario Appuzo, the attorney who argued the Kerchner vs. Obama case and the lead plaintiff, retired Navy Commander Charles Kerchner, the documentation reveals that Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a Kenyan national subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom, was the father when Barack Hussein Obama Jr. was born. This, they say, disqualifies Obama because of the Founders' requirement in the Constitution that a president must be a "natural born Citizen," commonly understood during the era of the beginnings of the United States to mean a citizen offspring of two citizen parents. The Kerchner vs. Obama case, as have some others, have challenged Obama on two grounds: that he had not proven his US birth and that even if that was documented, he still needed to meet the requirements of being a "natural born Citizen." Article 2, Section 1, states, "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President." "They are going to have to "face the music" on this at some point," said Kerchner, whose allegations never were decided on their merits after the courts created a roadblock by determining Americans don't have "standing" to demand the Constitution's requirements to be followed. Appuzo said, "The White House simply wants to ignore the Constitution's demand." He said, "The problem is getting a court to decide the dispute he raised." The seven or eight dozen cases brought so far largely have been turned back without a review of their actual merits. The courts have decided that the plaintiffs don't have "standing," or an injury or possible injury from a violation of the US Constitution, so the cases are thrown out. Appuzo said that with the flood of state proposals being considered at the legislative level, at some point a law will specifically give a plaintiff standing, then a dispute could be argued in the state courts. Kerchner also said that it is inevitable that the courts will have to make a ruling on the arguments. His organization ProtectOurLiberty.org also explains that under the British Nationality Act of 1948, when Obama was born in 1961, he was a British subject. The goal, according to Appuzo, was to avoid a president with divided loyalties - to America and to another nation to which his father or mother owed loyalty. Our Constitution requires unity of US citizenship and sole natural allegiance from birth only for the president and commander in chief of the military, given the unique nature of the position, a position that empowers one person to make decisions for our national survival. It is required of the president because such a status gives the American people the best chance that a would-be president will not have any foreign influences, which because of conflict of conscience, can most certainly taint his/her critical decisions made when leading the nation.
My Comments: Wow, that last sentence was a mouthful! Foreign influences....conflict of conscience. These statements are being rehearsed in my mind right now: "We are not at war with Islam, nor will we ever be at war with Islam," "This administration will not use the words Islam and terrorist in the same sentence." It has only taken Barack Obama less than his current four-year term to make certain Muslim mosques in the Middle East receive 700 million dollars of our tax dollars to refurbish mosques, but it has taken ten years for the 9/11 responders to get paid medical treatment for their suffering on account of the Muslim attacks against our nation. How twisted is that? Try knocking down some towers and killing about 3,000 in Iran. I guarantee you the Muslims there will not send 700 million to refurbish our Christian churches. No, it would be more like their determining how many of our heads they can chop off our shoulders. Since Barack Obama's background has been Socialist, Marxist, Muslim; and now his agenda is spend, spend, spend our tax dollars as fast as he can can can; basically, bankrupt America as fast as he can to bring about the Socialist One World Order as fast as he can... I think the picture should be fairly coming together for Americans by this point, at least I hope so.

4/27/11, ABC News: Severe winds and tornadoes slammed the South Wednesday, killing dozens of people in four states. Forty-five(plus) tornadoes hit Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Tennessee on Wednesday, back to back. The numbers of known dead began rising in Alabama this evening. At least 58 were killed in the state on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press after 11 pm ET. "There are more out there to be confirmed because search and rescue is underway in a number of counties," Alabama Emergency Management Agency Information Manager, Yasamie August, said. "However, there are still storm systems moving through the county as we speak." There were at least 11 confirmed dead in Mississippi, ABC News confirmed. The Associated Press confirmed two deaths in Georgia and one in Tennessee on Wednesday, plus one person killed by the same storm Tuesday in Arkansas. Mayor Walter Maddox reported 15 dead Wednesday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a city of approximately 180,000 flattened by an estimated mile-wide tornado. "We have way over 100 injuries throughout the City of Tuscaloosa," Mayor Maddox said. "We have hundreds of homes and businesses destroyed and hundreds more damaged." President Obama declared a state of emergency for the search and rescue response in Alabama, and Governor Robert Bentley told WBMA he expected the President to declare another one to help pay for the cleanup. As the known death toll rose this evening, forecasters warned people to brace themselves for even worse weather ahead. The weather system expected the storms to move into Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky by the night and into the Carolinas by Thursday morning. There have been more than 600 tornadoes reported nationwide during the month of April. The latest storm pattern has brought in reports of more than 45 tornadoes in five states: Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, and Kentucky.
My Comments: The "last days" warning signs are being issued throughout the world. God is warning the nations, calling people to prayer and repentance, while there is still time to pray. The Word of God tells us that these events will become more frequent and more severe (Matthew 24). We can already see that this is a fact throughout the world. We need to pray and be ready for the soon coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
