Storms passed through Mississippi and Alabama on Monday wreaking havoc and causing a lot of damage throughout both states.  Hailstones were said to be as large as baseballs in Jackson, Mississippi, and busted out car windows. 

Power lines and trees were toppled by up to 80 mph winds in Alabama and more than a dozen people were rushed to hospitals, reported Skye News. 

As of Tuesday morning at 6 am, nearly 100,000 residents were still without power in Alabama.

The ancient prophets foretold of severe storms in the latter days, "Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to earth with the hand" Isaiah 28:2.  "You will be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, with earthquake and great noise, with storm and tempest and the flame of devouring fire" Isaiah 29:6.      

As we move closer to the Lord's return, we will see more catastrophic storms, a prelude to the great tribulation.

Jesus said, "Then there will be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be" Matthew 24:21.  If you believe the words of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, great tribulation will come and we need to be ready for His return, because the saints of God will be "caught up" before the great tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9, 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, 1 Corinthians 15:50-58).

The gospel has been preached via satellite in every nation and according to Matthew 24:14, that accomplishment is the sign of His imminent return: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come."  With satellite technology, this prophecy came to pass in our generation, and the Lord will return during this generation, according to His own promise.  No one knows the day or the hour of His return, but Jesus did tell us in the Word of God that we will know when it is near, "even at the doors" (Matthew 24:33).
