Fox News (excerpts):  Robert H. Schuller has been ousted from Crystal Cathedral Ministries, the Ocean County Register reports.  Schuller, 84, who began his ministry in an Orange, California Theater more than 50 years ago, was voted off the board of the Crystal Ministries, which has been plagued by financial problems and familial discord, according to the paper.  Schuller's son, who was forced from the board three years ago, says his father wanted to enlarge the board, a move that did not sit well with others.  According to the paper, the church's financial travails, including a significant drop in donations and dwindling membership, culminated in its filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  The church still owes about 7.5 million to unsecured creditors, many of whom are vendors for the Cathedral's "Glory of Christmas" pageant.  Robert Schuller has been at odds with his daughters over how they have chosen to run the church.  Sheila Schuller Coleman required choir members to sign a covenant acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and the belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman.  The older Schuller publicly lashed out at the contract saying everyone is welcome in the church.

My Comments:  I am glad to know that there are a couple within the Schuller family that still believe in Bible doctrine as truth.  Notice, Sheila, Schuller's daughter, did not say people have to sign a covenant to "walk into the church," she obviously wants to be certain of the fundamental beliefs and commitment to the faith of those who participate in the choir.  Schuller would be upset by this, because the man never preaches against sin (period).  Half of Jesus's messages were warnings against living in sin, continuing in sin and the consequences of sin, hell fire.  Schuller might "drop over dead" to hear the doctrine of Christ preached in the Crystal Cathedral.  Schuller has historically preached sermons promoting self esteem, positive thinking, and how God condemns no one.  He leaves out one very critical fact in that last topic, God condemns no one - who is justified by faith and continues walking in the light of God's Word."  If God truly condemns no one, there would not be a Great White Throne Judgment after the thousand-year Millennial Reign of Christ - but there is a day of judgment.  Jesus said, "I will warn you who you should fear: fear Him, which after He kills has the power to cast into hell, yes, I say to you, fear Him" Luke 12:5.  "If the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?" 1 Peter 4:18.  Jesus says it will be hell.  You will never hear Robert Schuller say it, unless he gets saved.  "The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts, they will heap on themselves teachers, having itching ears" 2 Timothy 4:3.
