Nearly a week after hurricane Isaac, about 129,000 people are still without power, as they continue to battle flooding in Louisiana.

The death toll has risen to 10 in Louisiana and 29 in Haiti, but authorities are uncertain of a final count.

Thousands are still in shelters due to flooding after the storm.

A 90-year-old died in his sweltering home without power.  A voluntary evacuation remains in place, in that there are still potential threats in the area.  A man and woman were found floating in their kitchen, after flood levels rose past the roof line of some homes in their area of Braithwaite.  A man drowned when his SUV ran off a flooded highway and into a ditch in St Tammany Parish.  A man died in a restaurant fire, as firemen could not control the blaze due to strong winds caused by Isaac on Wednesday.

Forecasters predicted Pearl River would crest Monday, also posing a potential threat to thousands of homes in St. Tammany.  Thousands were also forced from their homes, as the storm surge pushed water over the banks of Lake Pontchartrain.

Katrina killed 1,800 people in 2005, and as horrible as that was, those numbers do not diminish the pain and affects of the known deaths of 39 caused by Isaac to date.

A dusk to dawn curfew is still in place in St James Parish due to flooding and National Guard troops have been deployed to assist with possible evacuations and for security purposes.

State officials promised that fines paid by BP over the gulf oil spill would be used to secure levees, but so far that hasn't happened, said Lafitte Mayor Tim Kerner.

The annual Southern Decadence Festival, a gay pride celebration for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders, continued on in the French Quarter.  This abominable spectacle is held annually in New Orleans over the Labor Day weekend.

There are some people who will never learn and they will stand up to defy God no matter what happens around them.  The Word of God tells us that this lifestyle is an abomination and the judgment of God will come against those who do such things, "You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is an abomination" Leviticus 18:22.  "God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves; for this cause God gave them up to vile affections, and even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature.  Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is grossly improper and receiving to themselves the reward of their error (like AIDS), which is just" Romans 1:24,26,27.

The Bible also says, "He who says, I know Him (God), but does not keep His commandments, is a liar and the truth is not in him" 1 John 2:4.

The good news is, Jesus, the Son of God, came down to earth and died to pay the penalty for all of our sins, and He also brought deliverance with salvation.  He came to set the captives free.  He said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives (bondage of sin), recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised (beaten by the effects of sin)" Luke 4:18.

Glory to God, this is what the Son of God has done for all of us!  That's right, no one has to remain bound by sin any longer, once they have received Jesus as their Savior.  If you haven't received the Savior and if you need deliverance, please visit the How Can I Be Saved page of this website.  Jesus died to set us free!  God bless you.
