Earthquake location 29.090°N, 139.244°E
A major 6.0 earthquake hit Izu Islands on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 08:53:39 UTC, at a depth of 443 km (275.3 mi).  Two major (>5.9) earthquakes have hit in the last three days.  The graph below demonstrates just how much earthquake activity has climbed in the last year and a-half.
