A great 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Komandorskiye Ostrovia, Russia region, on July 17, 2017, at 2334 UTC, at a depth of 10 km / 6 mi, reported the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a Tsunami Threat Message on July 17, 2017, at 2345 UTC, 11 minutes after the earthquake occurred.
