Today, I received an urgent request for prayer from a dear friend for:  "Darkhorse" 3rd Battalion 5th Marines and their families.  She informs me that they are fighting in and out of Afghanistan and they have lost 9 Marines in the last 4 days.  The fallen this week are:  Justin Allen, 23; Brett Linley, 29; Matthew Weikert, 29; Justus Bartett, 27; Dave Santos, 21; Chase Stanley, 21; Jesse Reed, 26; Matthew Johnson, 21; Zachary Fisher, 24; Brandon King, 23; Christopher Goeke, 23; Sheldon Tate, 27.  All of these gave their lives for you and me this week.  Let's honor them and their families with our prayers, and please pass the message on.

My heart goes out to the families of these young men; what tragedies!  Our youth shouldn't be giving their lives in this way on foreign soil.  We need to not only keep the families of these young heroes in our prayers, but we need to pray daily for the troops and families of all our military forces.  Let's pray for those who don't know the Lord; not only their lives, but their eternal souls are at stake here.  Jesus said, "Whoever lives and believes in Me will never die; do you believe this?" John 11:26.  For these young troops who love the Lord, they have just gone on only a bit ahead of us to their eternal reward in heaven.  This scripture comforted me when the Lord took my son at the age of 24, because Levi knew the Lord.  There is no doubt in my mind that Levi is now with the Lord and he is waiting for our reunion there.  The families of these need to have that same blessed assurance, so let's put them on our daily prayer list, that God will not only spare their mortal lives, but give their soul's newness of life in Him.  Thank you and God bless you for your faithfulness.
