Jesus's disciples asked Him, "...What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age?" Matthew 24:3.  This month's newsletter is the ninth in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return.  Jesus said, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.  Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake.  Many shall be offended and betray one another and hate one another, and many false prophets shall rise and deceive many; and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold" Matthew 24:7-12. 

This month, the focus is on the 12th verse of Matthew 24, "Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."  The love Jesus is referring to here is the love of God, which is also demonstrated, or not, in all other aspects of our social activities.  Jesus was saying in this passage that because sin will prevail in the world, the love of many people will become cold; there will be a lack of love for God, family and others in society.  In our world today, even among family members, people are ruthlessly forsaking one another, betraying one another and even killing one another.  This behavior is growing worse in America, but it is more chilling to realize what is happening in other parts of the world.  Dictators are ruthlessly killing citizens, such as the democides in North Korea, Russia, Germany and China during our generation.  It is estimated that the dictatorial leader of North Korea, Kim Il-Sung, murdered as many as 3.5 million citizens.  Jozef Stalin killed about 23 million people.  Adolf Hitler killed about 17 million people.  It is estimated that the Chinese dictator, Mao Zedong, killed 78 million people.  In light of all this democide, people in denial still believe this could never happen in America.  Right now, America is turning so much into the Socialist-Marxist direction, that even Russia's president Vladimir Putin advised Obama, "Learn from our mistakes; Socialism doesn't work."  Islamic nations kill Jews, Christians, family members (honor killings), and Muslims who are of different ideologies.  I will share some facts for emphasis:

Unborn babies murdered:  Since 2007, known statistics show that over 1 million babies every year are aborted in the United States, at their own mother's request (nrlc.org).  Unborn babies are referred to as "fetuses," to help detract from their humanity and alienate mothers to their unborn babies.  Prior to 1973 (Roe v. Wade), abortions were illegal.     

Divorce:  Divorce statistics continue to rise, even though fewer people are marrying from year to year.  72 percent of the population were married in 1970, but only 59 percent were married in 2002.  Prior to 1970, divorcing parties in the United States had to have a reason to divorce, such as adultery or a crime committed (Divorcemag.com).  Covenants before God were honored before our generation.

Fatherless:  Nearly 11 million fathers do not live with their children in the US.  Two-thirds of these fathers do not pay formal child support obligations (Urban.org).  Fatherless homes account for 63 percent of youth suicides, 90 percent of homeless/runaway children, 85 percent of children with behavioral problems, 71 percent of high school dropouts, 85 percent of youths in prison, over 50 percent of teen pregnancy (Divorcemag.com). 

Philanthropy:  Giving has declined 9 times since 1971.  Individuals donate 9 out of every 10 dollars.  Corporate giving is roughly 5 percent.  Total giving in 2011 was 11 percent below giving in 2007 (Charitynavigator.org). 

Prayer was removed from US public schools in 1963.  In 1971, the US Supreme Court established the "Lemon Test" for religious activities in schools (Lemon v. Kurtzman).  Among other criteria, scholastic activities must adhere to having a secular purpose.  After these two landmark decisions, divorce rates began to surge, the murder of unborn babies commenced and the spiritual doors to destruction were opened in this nation.  Once this nation alienated God from our children in the school system, society began to deteriorate rapidly.

The above statistics are for the US.  Most other nations have either become secular regarding marriage, family and abortion, or they are Islamic nations, where such things as "honor killings" among family members are commonplace in the public squares - not much love represented there.  Egypt's president, Muhammad Morsi crucified Christians, and those opposing his presidency, naked on trees in front of his presidential palace (wnd.com).  Honor killings, decapitations and dismemberment for various crimes are commonplace in Egypt and throughout other Islamic nations.  Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, threatens to "wipe Israel from the face of the map."  In fact, all Muslim nations, not only Iran, would like to destroy Israel.  These nations have been warring against Israel for thousands of years, as described in the Bible.  God said concerning Israel, "I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you; in you shall all families of the earth be blessed" Genesis 12:3.  Muslims worship the moon god Allah, and they hate Israel because they do not believe in the God of the Bible, the God of Israel.  As we can see, "the love of many has waxed cold."

Signs of Christ's Return - "Many false prophets shall rise and deceive many" Matthew 24:11

Jesus's disciples asked Him, "...What will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age?"  Matthew 24:3.  This month's newsletter is the eighth in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return.  Jesus said, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginnings of sorrows.  Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake.  Many shall be offended and betray one another and hate one another, and many false prophets shall rise and deceive many" Matthew 24:7-11.  Jesus was saying in this passage that many false prophets would rise, and we are seeing that like no other generation before us.  The following list of false prophets will give us a glimpse of the magnitude of deception going on, but it's just the "tip of the iceberg." 

Muhammad:  Founder of Islam, who said an angel choked him three times in a cave.  He was horrified and told his wife about the incident, not knowing if it was evil, or of God.  His wife told him that the angel was from God, thus, Islam was conceived.  Now, approximately 1.6 billion people in the world worship the god of Muhammad, Allah, the moon god.  The followers of Allah terrorize and kill each other, because they disagree theologically, and they have terrorized and killed millions of others in the world, especially Jews and Christians, who do not believe in their prophet, or Allah.  Muhammad declared Jesus to be only a prophet.
Ron L Hubbard:    Founder of Dianetics-Church of Scientology, which has about 8 million members worldwide.  The religion promotes the laws of science and reincarnation.  They do not believe in God the Creator, or His Son Jesus, our Savior. 
Sun Myung Moon:  Founder of the Unification Church, which has a vast, but unknown number of members worldwide.  The theology is said to be Christian based, although they practice interfaith worship with Islam, whose followers believe Jesus was only a prophet.  1.5 million members attended a church gathering in Yoido, South Korea in 1975.  The church now owns Paragon House Publishing, which as a $5 million budget.  The church also owns an automobile manufacturing company and other businesses in Communist, repressive North Korea.  They are closely tied with Muslim nations and they have incorporated teachings from the Qu'ran and Buddhism into their creed, the "Divine Principle." 
Stewart Traill:  Founder of the Church of Bible Understanding.  He proclaims himself to be none other than the reincarnated Elijah.  Members of the cult live in a commune and give Traill 90% of their income.  He owns four planes, a mansion and he receives government funding for his mission in Haiti, under George Bush's Faith Based Initiative!  According to former members, Traill controls every aspect of members' lives through harsh criticism, shame and public humiliation. 
Jim Jones:  Founder of the Peoples Temple.  He used religion as a front to start a dictatorial society.  He was a staunch believer in Communism and was actually an atheist, although most of his followers were deceived into thinking he was a devout Christian minister.  909 members of his "church" died by cyanide poisoning, many by forced suicide, and two by gunshot wounds, as well as five of Congressman Leo Ryan's party, who went to Jonestown, Guyana, to check on the welfare of members of the Peoples Temple.  916 died in all. 
Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda:  Founder of Creciendo en Gracia (Growing in Grace).  Miranda says that he is both Jesus and the Antichrist.  He has the number "666" tattooed on his forearm and many of his followers receive the same tattoo.  He has followers in 35 nations, mostly Hispanic, 287 radio programs and a 24-hour Spanish TV network, broadcasting to 103 countries.  He has churches in the United States and Canada, as well as other countries.  He claims millions of followers, which is likely true, given his wealth and fame, especially throughout Hispanic communities.  He has "learning" centers in New York and Houston.  He predicts he will be the leader of a One World Government.  His creed is that hell, the devil and sin are nonexistent; prayer is a waste of one's time; the 10 Commandments are irrelevant.  His vast number of followers just love him, much the same as Joel Osteen's followers love him, but Joel doesn't claim to be God in the flesh. 
David Koresh:  Leader of the Branch Davidians.  He believed himself to be the last prophet of the religious sect.  83 members of the Branch Davidians died during an ATF raid of their communal compound in Waco, Texas, in 1993. 
Marshall Applewhite:  Founder of Heaven's Gate, led 39 people to commit suicide in March 1997, telling them it was their only way to ascend to a higher state of being.  Two additional members committed suicide later, one in May of 1997, and the other in February 1998; 41 died in all. 

I have listed just a few false prophets, to present an idea of the magnitude of the deceptions that are rampant today.  More than any other time throughout history, we are seeing great numbers of false prophets and false messiahs rising, who are not only leading their followers into great deceptions, but they are gaining insurmountable wealth from the people and taking them to an early grave in some cases.  

The Bible says, "The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, and they will turn away their ears from truth and will turn to fables" 2 Timothy 4:3-4.  That time has come, folks; we are now living in the last days, before Jesus's return.  Are you ready to stand before the real Jesus?  If not, won't you receive Him today?

Signs of Christ’s Return - "Many will be offended and betray one another and hate one another”
Matthew 24:10

Jesus’s disciples asked Him, “…What will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age?” Matthew 24:3.  This month’s newsletter is the seventh in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return.  Jesus said, “Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.  Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and you shall be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  And many shall be offended and betray one another and hate one another” Matthew 24:7-10.  Jesus was saying in this passage that many would be offended by the gospel, as people are converted to Christianity, and they will hate and betray one another for that reason.  A clear example of this, which is very prevalent throughout the world today, is when Muslims convert to Christianity and their own families turn against them, even killing them in the name of “family honor.”  You can also find a very long list of Christian martyrs at http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Pages/ChristianAttacks.htm, but many, possibly most, have gone unreported due to media censorship in the nations where most of these killings have occurred. 

Wikipedia has dedicated an entire website to a list of notable people who have converted from various faiths to Christianity, www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_who_converted_to_Christianity, most of whom converted from Islam to Christianity and have been betrayed by family members and “friends” and who have died for their faith.  Wikipedia also had a much more comprehensive list of Christian martyrs and others persecuted for their faith at www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_ex-muslims, and there were 46 pages linked to that website in December 2011, with volumes of information on each page, including the persecutions, betrayals and killings, demonic hatred exacted against Christian converts.  However, since Obama met with the CEOs of Google, Facebook and Apple in San Francisco in February 2011, I have noticed that much conservative information, specifically that which incriminated Muslims, has been removed from Wikipedia and other sites, and the Persecution_of_ex-muslims site was one of those removed - entirely.  Google has censored an enormous amount of information, as well as the PropheticNewsletter.yolasite.com. 

I will relay one story found on the wiki site that was removed, because I kept a record of it.   It was so heart-moving, I wrote an article about it last year:  Muslim villagers coerce brothers to expel their elderly parents from home for converting to Christianity.  Ishmael (70) and Rahima (55), now living in a shelter, say they would rather starve to death than return to Islam.  Ishmael Sheikh and his wife Rahima Khatun were baptized on November 9, 2008.  By the end of the month, Sheikh told Compass Direct that Muslim neighbors in Kathuly village, near Gangni town in Meherpur district, compelled their two sons to expel them from their home.  Mehepur district is 270 kilometers (168 miles) west of Dhaka.  The ailing Sheikh told Compass that his two sons had come under tremendous pressure from neighbors in the village, which was entirely Muslim before the couple received Christ.  The neighbors threatened that the children of Sheikh’s sons would not be allowed to marry anyone from the village if the brothers allowed their parents to remain in the home.  The couple went to a shelter used by itinerant minstrels who sing traditional Bengali songs a half kilometer away from their home.  “I got salvation in Jesus,” Sheikh said.  “In this shelter, without food, I am ready to flirt with death by debilitating illness or by attack from Muslim neighbors, but never will I go back to Islam.”  (Bangladesh:  Compass Direct, January 14, 2009)

This type of thing is happening all over the world, especially in the Middle East.  In some of the worst cases, even here in the United States, people are being killed by their own relatives, or by Sharia governments (in Middle Eastern nations) for converting to Christianity.  I wrote an article in the website about a Muslim man, Mohammad Shafia of Canada, who killed his three daughters and one of his wives by drowning them in the family car in a canal in Kingston, Ontario.  He was tried in Canada with his second wife and their son, Hamed.  A police wiretap was played in court, from which he was heard saying, “God’s curse on them (referring to his daughters).”  In another wiretap, he was heard saying, “May the devil (defecate) on their graves.”  This kind of hatred spewing from the mouth of a natural father is not unusual among Muslims who kill their wives and daughters, primarily in the Middle East, for infractions such as refusing to marry the man chosen for his daughter, adultery, or even the rape of his wife or daughter.  This kind of hatred is obviously satanic and has nothing whatsoever to do with the true God of heaven and earth, but the Muslim world refuses to see that.  Shafia, his wife and son were all convicted in Canada of four counts of murder in January 2012, which the prosecutor called “honor killings.” 

There are too many stories to enumerate here, but you can visit websites, at least for the time being, that are still available on the internet www.CompassDirect.org and www.Persecution.com to read articles which detail Christian persecution and killings among families and within communities.  These websites are dedicated to articles relating to Christian persecution, which is so widespread, if you visit the websites, you will know that the Lord’s return is very near, “even at the doors.”

Jesus's disciples asked Him, "...What will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age?" Matthew 24:3.  This month's newsletter is the sixth in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return.  Jesus said, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.  Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake," Matthew 24:7-9.  This month, the focus will be on "They will deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake," which Jesus spoke of concerning the last days.  We will look at the nations where Christian persecution is prevalent today, in order to determine the magnitude of hate and persecution taking place throughout the world against Christians. 

According to en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Christians, an estimated one million Christians face persecution today, particularly in North Korea, Iran and Saudi Arabia.  about 75 out of 100 people killed due to religious hatred are Christians.  The current average for Christian martyrdom is 159,960 per year - known killings.  Christians are being tortured and executed by Islamic nations for "apostasy" throughout the world.  Muslim nations are declaring religious Jihad (holy war), in order to usher in the Mahdi (Muslim messiah), who the Qu'ran teaches will return when Muslims begin to prevail against Christians and Jews.  This week, hundreds of Christians in Pakistan fled to a nearby forest in fear of their lives, after an 11-year-old Christian girl was arrested for "burning the pages of a Qu'ran" in their village.  The child has Down's syndrome. 

Known Christian persecution prevalent in the world today is summarized below:

North Korea:  Christians in North Korea suffer more persecution than in any other country in the world, according to Persecution.org.  Christianity is illegal in North Korea.  Christians are arrested, beaten, persecuted and imprisoned solely for practicing their faith, worshiping in their homes and conducting Bible studies.  North Koreans are taught from a young age that the president of North Korea is their "god." 

Sudan:  It is estimated that one and a-half million people have been executed in Sudan by the Janjaweed, the Arab-Muslim militia, since 1984.

Nigeria:  More than 300 churches have been burned and hundreds of Christians have been burned alive in those churches, within the 11 northern Islamic states of Nigeria over the last several years.  More than 30,000 Christians in Kano, the larges city in northern Nigeria, have fled from persecution.

Vietnam:  Christians have been tortured, imprisoned, forced to starve and killed in Vietnam in recent years.  Voice of the Martyrs magazine featured articles about Christian persecution in Vietnam in their two latest editions.

China:  Christians must worship in registered churches in China, which are not allowed to teach the entire Bible, only selected portions of it.  When groups are found conducting home churches or prayer meetings, they are arrested and imprisoned. 

India:  There has been a sharp increase of violent attacks against Christians in India in recent years. 

Philippines:  The Moro Islamic Liberation Front and Abu Sayyaf attack and kill Christians in the Philippines. 

Soviet Union:  An extensive education and propaganda campaign has been undertaken to convince people, especially the youth, to abandon religious beliefs.  Millions of Christians have been killed from the 19th century into the 20th century to create an atheistic state and tens of thousands of churches have been destroyed.  The Soviet's official religious stance has been that of "religious freedom and tolerance," but the state established atheism as the only scientific truth.  It is estimated that 500,000 Russian Orthodox Christians were martyred in gulags by the Soviet government, which numbers do not include those who were tortured, nor does it include Christians from other denominations that have been killed.

Death tolls are difficult to tally in these nations within specific timeframes, because the media are not allowed to release that information in many instances.  The numbers we do have are staggering and the situation is growing worse.

Signs of Christ's Return - "...There will be earthquakes..." Matthew 24:7

Jesus's desciples asked Him, "...What will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age (original Greet to English translation)?" Matthew 24:3.  This month's newsletter is the fifth in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return, as recorded in Matthew 24.  Jesus said, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  This month, the focus will be on the "earthquakes in various places" Jesus spoke of concerning the last days.  We will look at a 147-year (+3 months) history of major (>6.9) earthquakes throughout the world to determine a pattern and identify the magnitude of earthquake activity today:

The above survey, provided by www.earth.webecs.co.uk, reveals quite a remarkable increase in major earthquakes over the last 147 years!  This trend, as you can see, fits right in line with Bible prophecy.  Jesus said, "There will be great earthquakes in various places, famines, pestilences, fearful sights and great signs from heaven" Luke 21:11.  The amazing celestial orb seen and photographed above the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Jauary 27, 2011, at approximately 1 am (IST), has had astrophysicists and aerospace engineers baffled.  Severe weather, storms and solar flares are also among the signs from heaven we are seeing in these last days.  Although you will not hear of them much in American (propagandized) media, there are severe famines and pestilences afflicting people throughout the world, especially in Asia and the Pacific (578 million) and Sub-Saharan Africa (239 million), according to the World Food Program.  You might be asking why American news media is propagandized.  I will say this, not to stray too far from the subject at hand, that the Bilderbergs and United Nations do not want people alarmed about the perils of hunger and pestilence.  As it is now, the United Nations works together with Muslim terrorist groups, such as Al-Shabab in Africa, in keeping food from being distributed to the starving.  You can research "Georgia Guidestones" on the internet for more information as to why this is happening.  You will also not hear much about tent cities in America either.  Nevertheless, America's largest tent city is located right here in Sacramento, CA, with over 1,000 people (as of 2011) and growing.  According to www.thegatewaypundit.com, there are tent cities in at least 55 cities throughout the United States.

Jesus's disciples asked Him, "...what will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age (original Greek to English translation)?" Matthew 24:3.  This month's newsletter is the fourth in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return.  Jesus said, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  This month, the focus will be on the "pestilences" Jesus spoke of concerning the last days.  We will look at a 50-year history of pestilences, or epidemics/pandemics, throughout the world to determine a pattern and identify the scope of pestilences today:

1950s:    2 pestilences worldwide: bubonic plague and the Asian flu pandemic worldwide. 

1960s:    2 pestilences worldwide: cholera pandemic and the Hong Kong flu pandemic worldwide.

1970s:    3 pestilences worldwide: cholera pandemic worldwide, outbreak of smallpox in Yugoslavia, and smallpox epidemic in India.

1980s:    2 pestilences worldwide: cholera pandemic and HIV/AIDS pandemic worldwide.

1990s:    4 pestilences worldwide: cholera pandemic worldwide, HIV/AIDS pandemic worldwide, plague epidemic in India, and meningitis in West Africa.

I just happened to notice that, other than its inclusion in a few worldwide epidemics/pandemics, the United States is not mentioned as a "stand-alone" nation with pestilences.  In fact, the worldwide epidemics/pandemics, such as HIV/AIDS and cholera, have been brought into the United States by those traveling here from other nations.  I can immediately tell you why the US has been so blessed with a minimal number of pestilences, at least those that have originated in the US, over the last 50 years; it is because the United States has the greatest Christian population in the world, according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_by_country.  You might notice that the greater number of Muslim countries are afflicted with disease.  One of the reasons why the Wikipedia list of epidemics is incomplete is because Communist nations, such as China and North Korea, do not release much information regarding pestilences, or other national problems, because such afflictions are considered a "reproach" in their culture. 

Jesus said there would be pestilences in the earth preceding His return and the numbers speak volumes in our generation.  The ancient prophets also declared, "When the Lord shall build up Zion (Israel), He shall appear in His glory" Psalms 102:16; and when the Jews are gathered in Israel, it will "blossom as the rose" Isaiah 35:1.  The nation of Israel was "born in one day," May 15, 1948, just as the prophet Isaiah said it would in Isaiah 66:8.  The Jews have gathered into Israel from all nations, as prophesied in Isaiah 11:11-12, and since 1948, the barren desert land has indeed blossomed like a rose, and the return of Christ is near! 

The Word of God says, "Without faith, it is impossible to please God" Hebrews 11:6.  The signs are all here, right before our eyes.  Everything the ancient prophets foretold thousands of years ago either has been fulfilled, or is formulating before our very eyes right now!  All of the prophecies that had to be fulfilled preceding the "catching up" of the saints have already been fulfilled, so, the Lord could return for His saints any day now (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). 

If you haven't received the Lord Jesus as your Savior, the One who paid the price for your sins and mine, won't you receive Him today?  Just as sure as you and I will be leaving this life to step into eternity, we will face God to give an account of what we have done during our lifetimes on this earth.  If you need mathematics and probability, this truth is more probable than the possibility that you or I will not leave this world and live here forever - think about it.  Jesus said, "I tell you, every idle world that men speak, they will give an account for on the day of judgment" Matthew 12:36.  How will you appear before the judgment seat of God?  Will He say, "Well done, good and faithful servant" or "Depart from me...I never knew you?" (Matthew 25:21, Matthew 7:23).  Many people do not want to hear this type of message; it makes them angry.  I am writing what the Word of God says, nothing more and nothing less.  People who are angry about this type of message, a resounding alarm about His impending judgment, are not really angry with me, they are actually angry about what God has to say.  Next month, God willing, I will write about the fifth sign spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 24, regarding the signs of His return in the last days.  God bless you.

Signs of Christ's Return - "...There will be famines..." Matthew 24:7

Jesus's disciples asked Him, "...What will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age?" Matthew 24:3.  This month's newsletter is the third in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return.  Jesus said, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places" Matthew 24:7.  This month, the focus will be on the "famines" Jesus spoke of concerning the last days.  I listed the pattern of famines over the last 50 years, in order to examine what the current situation is:

1970s:  There were 9 famines worldwide during the 1970s.  The afflicted nations were: Nigeria, Mauritania, Mali, Chad, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and Cambodia.

1980s:  There were 2 famines throughout the world in the 1980s.  The affected nations were: Uganda and Ethiopia.

1990s:  There were 4 famines in the world during the 90s.  The nations involved were: Somalia, North Korea, Sudan and Ethiopia.

2000s:  There were 20 famines in the world from 2000 - 2010.  The afflicted nations were: Ethiopia, Congo, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Malawi, Niger, Somalia, Uganda, Djibouti, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Madagascar, Myanmar, North Korea, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Eritrea and Tajikistan. 

2010 - Present:  There are currently 25 famines ongoing since 2010, which involve the following nations: Sudan, Malawi, Niger, Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Myanmar, North Korea, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Madagascar, Tajikistan, Kenya, Sahel, Eritrea, India, China, Congo, Pakistan and Tanzania. 
*Many more countries are listed in mass malnutrition categories, but have not officially been included on the list of countries experiencing "famine," although millions suffer malnourishment-related deaths each year.

According to WorldHunger.org, 925 million people in the world are hungry today, and the problem is rapidly growing worse.  Believe it or not, Asia and the Pacific nations suffer more from famine and malnutrition than African nations.  The reason these facts aren't well known by the rest of the world is censorship and our lack of communication with Communist (dictatorial) nations.  578 million people suffer famine/malnourishment in Asia and the Pacific; 239 million suffer famine/malnourishment in Sub-Saharan Africa (less than half the numbers in Asia and the Pacific); 19 million suffer famine/malnourishment in developed countries; 37 million Near East and North Africa; and 53 million in Latin America and the Caribbean.   

The world is experiencing mass bee die-offs, cause unknown.  Whatever the cause(s) may be, the Word of God tells us there will be famines in various places, and the massive bee colony die-offs are playing a key role.  At least 30% of US bee colonies are disappearing each year and the percentages continue to increase every year.  About 2.9 million acres of crops disappear from farmlands every year, which is enough to feed 800 colonies of bees, reported TheDailyGreen.com.  To narrow the situation further, 55 bee colonies are dying off every day in the United States alone, although this is a global problem.  The reason why this is such a critical situation is because pollination accounts for about one-third of the world's food supply, mostly attributed to bees.  The world needs to wake up to the real facts and Bible prophecy.  Environmentalists are also alarmed about the world's water supply, and to top it all off, the world's economies are failing before our eyes.  World leaders do not want their citizens to panic, so the media at large is propagandized. 

Those of us who are ready for the Lord's return will not suffer the tribulation period spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 24, and throughout the book of Revelation.  The Bible says, "The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ will rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Therefore, comfort one another with these words" 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.  "Wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come" 1 Thessalonians 1:10.  If you have received Jesus as your Savior, there is nothing at all to worry about.  If you haven't, please receive the Lord Jesus as your Savior today.  The consequences are too severe for those who refuse, but even worse than the penalty of hell, is the fact that it lasts forever.  Where will you spend eternity?

Starting with March, the newsletters have been a continuing synopsis on Matthew 24, although I have to deviate from that study this month, as directed by the Lord.  While in prayer several days ago, the Lord reminded me of a revelation He had given me on the doctrine of "Calvinism," or "once saved, always saved."  I hesitated, because of my commitment to the study of Matthew 24, but again, the Lord impressed me that there are some who need to consider this "now."  I have discussed this doctrine with many during my lifetime, but it seems that people generally have the same rhetorical answer, "We are not saved by works; that is a works-based doctrine you have."  My response would be, "God saved us from sin and bondage, not to keep us in sin and bondage."  The Bible says, "Old things have passed away; all things have become new" 2 Corinthians 5:17.  As much as I came up with answers about how "old things have passed away" and that "we are a new creature in Christ Jesus;" the age-old answer people gave me in defense of "Calvinism" always played on my heart, because, of course, "We are not saved by works, lest any man should boast" Ephesians 2:9.  I continued praying and asking the Lord about this conflict, because I know what the scriptures say and I know what my conviction is, but I have to say that Ephesians 2:9 continued on my heart.  As I prayed one morning about this doctrine, the Lord specifically impressed upon my heart these words (they didn't come from me; I'm not that bright): "Since when is abstinence from sin - works?"  I was dumbfounded.  It was such a simple response, but something I never considered.  The Lord, right then and there, impressed upon my heart further: "What works did the thief on the cross do to be saved?  Yet, once he believed, and his heart was right before God, he was saved and went to paradise the same day."  The Lord also impressed upon me, "The thief on the cross had no sin in his mortal body, once his heart was fixed, and that was a free gift."  Again, the Lord spoke to my spirit, "Since when does abstinence from sin equate works?"  The Lord revealed to me that if a person receives Christ and abides in His teachings, if that person's heart is for the Lord, they are saved and no good "works" are required.  Nevertheless, Christ dwells in us, so we do good works, but works alone do not save anyone; yet, "Faith without works is dead" James 2:20.  We all know that works and abstinence are two very different things, right?  We know that "works" is an action word and "abstinence" is a do nothing word, if you will.  They are very different.  Make no mistake about it, the Lord has called us to abstinence, albeit not works, but we do the works of Him who lives in us.  The Bible says, "Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind" 1 Corinthians 6:9.  Isn't it interesting that getting into the kingdom of God has nothing to do with "works," but a lot to do with abstinence from sin?  It is very clear to me that, according to the Bible, we have to abstain from these evils in order to enter the kingdom of God.  If you get saved and sit in a rocking chair and do absolutely nothing for God, but just stay away from evil, you will enter in to the kingdom of God; you don't have to do a thing!  Some may say, "We all have to sin - we can't live without sin!"  Au contraire, my friend.  That is exactly why Jesus came in the flesh, not as God-man, but in-the-flesh, just like you and me.  He came to be our example - and He was sinless.  The Bible says Jesus was tempted, as we are, "For we have not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin" Hebrews 4:15.  The scriptures also say, "There is no temptation, except what is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way of escape, so you can bear it" 1 Corinthians 10:13.  God is also merciful, for the scriptures tell us, "My little children, these things I write to you, that you sin not; and if (notice that word "IF") any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous" 1 John 2:1.  The Lord is there with arms wide open if we sin.  Is He there with arms wide open if we remain in sin and refuse to budge?  God calls us out of sin, but if we refuse to budge, then we fall into these categories, according to the holy Word of God: "We are not of those who draw back (backslide) unto perdition (damnation), but of those who believe to the saving of the soul" Hebrews 10:39.  What did Jesus say about those who start out with Him, but then turn back?  "Jesus said to him, 'No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God'" Luke 9:62.  Jesus also said to a man He healed, "You are made whole; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto you" John 5:14.  Finally, it is a dangerous thing to lack sincerity with God.  "He, begin often reproved, who hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed without remedy" Proverbs 29:1.  Jesus said, "If your eye is evil, your whole body is full of darkness.  If the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!  Matthew 6:23.  God bless you with truth.

Signs of Christ's Return - "You Will Hear of Wars and Rumors of Wars" Matthew 24:6

Jesus's disciples asked Him, "...What will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age?" Matthew 24:3.  This month's newsletter is the second in a series of ten newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus said would signal His return in Matthew 24.  Jesus said, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not troubled, all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet" Matthew 24:6.  He is saying that the end is close, when you hear of "wars and rumors of wars," but the end is not here yet.  The Bible says that the rebirth of Israel (Zion) would precede the return of the Lord, "When the Lord builds up Zion, He will appear in His glory" Psalms 102:16; thus, the prophetic countdown to the Lord's return began once Israel became a nation again in 1948.  "Wars and rumors of wars" have become much more prevalent in the last 50 years.  The Bible is Israel/Middle Eastern-based, so it is important to recognize what is happening in Israel, versus the entire world.  Old and New Testaments, from the ancient prophets to Christ, foretold what has happened and what will happen in Israel, in that God consistently uses His people Israel as an example to the rest of His creation.  Since Israel became a nation in 1948, we can see, as never before, the consistent wars waged against Israel and the current rumors of wars surrounding Israel today.  Israel has been involved in 21 wars and conflicts since 1948.  I don't have space to list all of the wars, but just looking at Israel's victories over the many nations which have come against him during the following three major wars is nothing less than miraculous!  By looking at all of these defeats, you would think that the Arabs and Muslims should know who the real God is by now!

Israel became a nation again in 1948, in fulfillment of Biblical prophecies, one of which says, "I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have driven you, saith the Lord, and I will bring you again to the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive" Jeremiah 29:14.  Between 1948, when Israel became a nation again, and 2010, 3,075,229 Jews have returned to Israel, as prophesied.

Jesus said, "When you see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation is near" Luke 21:20.  In order for this end times prophecy to be fulfilled, Israel had to have control over Jerusalem again.  All of these Muslim-Arab nations (above - right column) came against Israel in 1967.  Not only were they all defeated by the tiny nation of Israel, but Israel gained control of Jerusalem, as prophesied!  Jerusalem is compassed about with US troops right now!

"I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God" Amos 9:14-15.  It is really hilarious how that all of these massive nations surrounding tiny little Israel keep trying to overtake it, but they are continuously defeated!  The reason they all can't beat Israel is because God said, "they shall no more be pulled up out of their land!"  God's Word is true.  You would think the Muslims and Arabs would know who the real God is by now!

Signs of Christ's Return - "Many Shall Come in My Name..." Matthew 24:4-5

When Jesus walked the earth with His disciples, they asked Him, "...What will be the sign of Your coming and the end of the age?" Matthew 24:3.  "Jesus answered and said to them, 'Take heed that no man deceive you, for many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ, and will deceive many'" Matthew 24:4-5.  This was the first among ten signs that Jesus ssaid would signal His return.  This month's newsletter will be the first in a series of newsletters that will expound on each of the ten signs Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24.  There ware doubters today, even in the Christian community, concerning the return of our Lord and that His return is near.  God told us in His Word that the rebirth of Israel (Zion) as a nation would precede the return of the Lord Jesus (Psalms 102:16); thus, the prophetic clock began ticking once Israel became a nation in 1948.  More false Christs have arisen during the 20th Century than any other period since Jesus ascended to heaven and stated He would return.  I have listed below those who claimed to be Christ during the 20th Century:

1)   Haile Selassie I - AKA Jah Ras Tafari.  There are an estimated 100,000 Rastafarians (followers of Jah Ras Tafari) in Jamaica.
2)   George Ernest Roux - AKA - the "Christ of Montfavet" or "Georges-Christ" founder of the Universal Christian Church (now named the Universal Alliance) in France.  He has about 4,000 followers.
3)   Ernest Norman - Claimed to be Jesus reincarnated and cofounded Unarius Academy of Science.  Unarius Claims to have 500,000 members worldwide. 
4)   Krishna Venta - born Francis Herman Pencovic.  He claimed to be Christ and had thousands of followers with a monastery in California and in Alaska.  
5)   Ahn Sahng-Hong - Claimed to be God the Father, and his wife God the Mother.  The church still has an estimated 1 million followers as of 2008.
6)  Sun Myung Moon - Claimed to be Christ.  Founder of the Unification Church and is said to still have possibly several million members worldwide (en.wikipedia.org).
7)   Jim Jones - Founder of Peoples Temple, claimed to be the reincarnation of Jesus and Father Divine.  A mass suicide and murder at the Jonestown Temple killed 909 members.
8)   Marshall Applewhite - declared he was Jesus Christ and instructed 39 members of Heaven's Gate to commit suicide, and they did.  Two other committed suicide after the 39.
9)   Yahweh ben Yahweh - meaning God, Son of God.  Born as Hulon Mitchell is said to have 12,000 followers (trutv.com).  
10)  Laszlo Toth - claimed he was Jesus Christ as he vandalized Michelangelo's Pieta with a geologist hammer.  
11)  Wayne Bent - AKA Michael Travesser of the Lord Our Righteousness Church.  He claimed to be the embodiment of God and had about 80 followers.  
12)  Ariffin Mohammed - AKA Ahah Pin, founder of Sky Kingdom.  His followers believe he is the incarnation of Jesus and Muhammad and is said to have several thousand followers.
 13)  Mitsuo Mataoshi - believes he is God.  He established the World Economic Community Party in Japan. He says he will bring judgment under the world's current political system.
 14)  Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda - established Creciendo en Gracia (Growing in Grace) and claims to be Christ.  He has millions of followers in the world, who tattoo "666" on their bodies.  Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda says there is no hell and earth is already heaven.  Jose also has "666" tattooed on his body, but says it is the symbol of Christ.  (see CNN video on the News Videos page of this website).
15)  Inri Cristo - born Alvaro Thais - claims to be Jesus reincarnated.  Has innumerable followers in Portugal, Australia, England, Brazil and France.
16)  Thomas Harrison Provenzano - An American convicted of murder, who compared his execution with the crucifixion of Jesus.
17)  Shoko Asahara - founded Aum Shinrikyo.  He declared himself Christ and he declared the world would end, except for the few who joined Aum.  He had as many as 40,000 followers worldwide.  He instigated the Sarin gas attack on a Tokyo subway and has been sentenced to death and is awaiting execution.
18)  David Koresh - born Vernon Wayne Howell - He was the leader of a Branch Davidian religious sect in Waco, TX.  He claimed to be "the Son of God."  After a siege on his compound by the FBI, the ranch burned to the ground.  David, 54 adults and 21 children died among the cult group.  
19)  Hogen Fukunaga - founded Ho No Hana Sanpogyo.  He claimed to be Jesus and Buddha reincarnated, is very wealthy and said to have about 30,000 followers. 
20)  Marina Tsvigun - AKA Maria Devi Christos, leader of the Great White Brotherhood.  She is recognized as a "new messiah" and has about 80,000 followers.  
21)  Sergey Torop - claims to be Jesus Christ returned.  He founded the Church of the Last Testament and the spiritual community Ecopolis Tiberkul in Southern Siberia.  He has about 5,000 devout followers and many thousands more who have left their homes to move close to his village in Southern Siberia, which is not even on a map it is so remote.
22)  Isa - Muslim "Jesus" to come.  According to CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), there are about 1.2 billion Muslims (~22% of world's population) awaiting the return of their Mahdi (Muslim Messiah), who will appear with Isa (Jesus), who they say is a prophet of Allah.  The Qu'ran (Muslim bible) teaches that their prophet Jesus (same Jesus we know is God and Savior) will return with the Mahdi and he will kill all pigs (Christians and Jews) who do not convert to Islam (Hadith Volume 4, Book 55, Number 657).

These are 21 known false "Christs" in the world today (as well as Isa, the "Jesus" of the Muslims, #22), most of whom have a serious following of believers, some number in the millions (and billions of Muslims await Isa).  There has never been before throughout history so many false "Christs."  This is the first of the signs Jesus said would be prevalent in the world when He returns.
