We are living in a day like no other prophetically. Last days Bible prophesies have been fulfilled during our generation unlike any other time since the birth of Jesus. Israel became a nation again after nearly 2,000 years of exile, which was foretold of old by the Prophet Ezekiel,
“For in My holy mountain, in the mountain height of Israel, saith the Lord God, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve Me; there will I accept them and there will I require your offerings and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things. I will accept you with your sweet savor, when I bring you out from the people and gather you out of the countries wherein you have been scattered and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I lifted up My hand to give it to your fathers”
Ezekiel 20:40-42.

This ancient prophecy was fulfilled on May 14, 1948, before the eyes of many who are still living today. This was the beginning of the restoration of Israel. The ancient prophets also spoke of the heathen gathering against Jerusalem in the last days.
“Say, thus saith the Lord God, Behold I am against thee, oh Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (Russia today)...After many days, thou shalt be visited; in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste, but is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them...Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm...to cover the land...” Ezekiel 38:2,8,9.
These are astonishing prophecies given thousands of years ago, before Israel became a nation again in the “latter years.” Jews are still returning to Israel from all corners of the earth, being “brought back from the sword” (after the 70 AD invasion of Israel) and inhabited again by Jews, gathered from “the countries wherein you have been scattered.” According to Bible prophecy, Russia will come against Israel with Persia (Iran today), Ethiopia and Libya (Ezekiel 38). President Vladimir Putin has said, “A strike against Tehran constitutes a strike against Moscow,” and as Iran continues to publicly threaten Israel, the Ezekiel 38 war is impending. In 1867, Mark Twain toured the land of Israel, known as Palestine at that time, named by the Romans in 70 AD after Israel’s Biblical enemies, the Philistines. Twain wrote, “Palestine was a desolate country, given over wholly to weeds. There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Palestine sits in ‘sackcloth and ashes,’ desolate and unlovely.” Palestinians complain that the Jews have stolen their land. What land, weeds and sand? God gave Israel to the Jews in about 1700 BC!

Israel in 1867.       Jews returned and went to work in 1948.

“The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose” Isaiah 35:1.
Has Israel not “blossomed as the rose?” Has the land not rejoiced and flourished over the Jews return? King David wrote,
“When the Lord shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory” Psalm 102:16.

I am persuaded that we are living in the latter days and that the Lord’s return is very near, even at the door.
