A major 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit 32 km SW of Lakatoro,
Vanuatu, on April 30, 2016, at 08:35:42 UTC, at a depth of 4.8 km / 3.0 mi,
reported USGS.
608 major (6.0+) to super (8+) earthquakes hit various places
over the last 1,165 days. Among these were 77 7.0+
and 6 8.0+ magnitude quakes. (Sources:
