A major 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of
Aisen, Chile, on July 27, 2016, at 01:25:12 UTC, at a depth of 10 km, reported CSEM-EMSC.
643 major (6.0+) to super (8.0+) earthquakes hit various places
worldwide over the last 1,253 days. Among these were 78 7.0+
and 6 8.0+ magnitude quakes. (Sources:
