A 6.2 major earthquake hit Auckland Islands, New Zealand region, on September 20, 2017, at 01:43:29 UTC, at a depth of 13 km, reported Geoscience Australia (not finalized).833 major (6.0+) to super (8.0+) earthquakes hit various places worldwide over the last 1,672 days. Among these were 93 7.0+ and 10 8.0+ magnitude quakes.
