DROUGHT WORSE ON RECORD IN 1,200 YEARS
Breitbart.com reported last week that a recent study of tree
rings shows that” the current event is the most severe drought in the last
1,200 years,” and last week’s rains did little to help.
This situation reminds me of what God told Israel a long time
ago, and His Word still applies to us today,
“You shall love the Lord your God and keep His charge, His
statutes, His judgments and His commandments always...And it shall come to
pass, if you hearken diligently unto My commandments which I command you this
day, to love the Lord your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with
all your soul, that I will give you the rain of your land in his due season,
the first rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in corn, your wine and
your oil...Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived and you
turn aside and serve other gods and worship them, and then the Lord’s wrath be
kindled against you, and He shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, that the
land yield not her fruit, and lest you perish quickly from off the good land
which the Lord gives you” Deuteronomy 11:1,13-14, 16-17.
God also said,
“If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble
themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven and forgive their sin, and will heal their land” 2
Chronicles 7:14.
We Californians – and the world – have a choice. God has laid
out plans for blessings, but also plans for chastisement. If the enactment of new laws continue to cast off the foundation of truth and God's holy commandments, the land and the people, by their own choice, will languish (Hosea 4:3).
