MORE THAN 100,000 FLEE FLOODS IN JAPAN
More than 100,000 people have evacuated Honshu, Japan, after tropical storm Etau hit the area on Friday. Heavy floods caused rivers to overflow their banks, lifted houses from their foundations, uprooted trees and caused landslides, as helicopters rescued many people from their housetops.
Another 800,000 people were warned to evacuate their homes during this unprecedented rainfall in the last 50 years, which has affected areas east and north of Tokyo.
A disastrous tsunami that hit Japan in 2011, causing nearly 20,000 deaths. In fact, an exceptionally high number of national disasters, such as earthquakes and severe weather, have occurred throughout the world over about the last five years.
According to Bible prophecy, the earth’s pretribulation “birth pains” will increase in intensity and volume as we approach the Lord’s return.
“Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to earth with the hand” Isaiah 28:2.
“The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked; the Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet” Nahum 1:3.
The Lord is longsuffering with the nations that largely do not honor Him as The Almighty, or render Him service. Albeit, as we draw nearer to the Lord’s return, the Word of God tells us the nations will travail.
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape” 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
