A major 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit 90 km NW of Valparaiso, Chile, on September 18, 2015, at 09:10:44 UTC, at a depth of 8.7 km (5.4 mi), reported USGS.

Over the last three days, Chile has been “shaken like a reed.” A 15’ tsunami wave also hit homes and businesses along coastal cities after the great 8.3 quake hit early Thursday morning.

Approximately 1 million people have evacuated the coastal areas involved, at least 12 are dead and five have been reported missing.

Homes and businesses have been destroyed, causing billions in damage. Chile placed the earthquake at a magnitude of 8.4. One resident, whose house crumbled during the shaking, said the quake felt like a “10.”

During such catastrophes, it pays to know the Lord. I have heard the testimonies of God’s people who have been spared, as houses all around theirs were destroyed during a tornado in Florida. I heard the testimony of a man of God in Indonesia say that he and the orphans he cared for were spared after he placed them in a boat and took them out to sea beyond the break of the tsunami waves. I heard the story of a man and a boy that were miraculously saved during a tsunami in Alaska while they were fishing. The father told his son to pray, as he worked to bring up the anchor. He wasn’t able to pull it up, but it gave way at the right moment, allowing their small boat to rise with the humongous swell, which brought them back down safely as it passed through.

The Word of God gives this promise to His elect, those who walk circumspectly before Him and fully trust in Him,

“A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it (destruction) shall not come nigh thee” Psalm 91:7.

A major 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit 53 km W of Illapel, Chile, on September 17, 2015, at 04:10:30 UTC, at a depth of 30.1 km, reported USGS.

Major to great magnitude earthquakes (6.0+) have increased to more than one quake every two days during the last 31 months on average. This is unprecedented and a fulfillment of last days Bible prophecy.

At least 714 major to great (6.0+) earthquakes have been reported on this site during the last 57 months.

Jesus said these signs would appear before He returns, "Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places" Matthew 24:7.

The Prophet Joel wrote about 2,500 years ago,

"The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible Day of the Lord come" Joel 2:31. 

Was he not referring to the tetrad of lunar eclipses, with a solar eclipse among them, during this extremely rare and phenomenal event on Israel's feast days, also during this Shemitah and Jubilee year?

I believe he indeed made reference to this very rare event and I also believe that the return of the Lord is imminent!
