West Africa’s known death toll has surpassed 10,000, according
to the World Health Organization’s statistical data released on Thursday.
Deaths were reported in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Senegal,
Nigeria and Mali; in addition to a small number of deaths reported in the
United States, Spain and Britain.
The deadly hemorrhagic fever has reportedly been contained so
far in Senegal, Nigeria and Mail.
This death toll may not make an impact on you, depending on
which part of the world you live in; but we should all sympathize with
those who have suffered so tremendously in West Africa, and those in other
nations who have contracted the disease. Imagine this death toll in your own state,
or your surrounding states, and how you would feel.
Prophecies given in the Book of Revelation tell us that
seven-twelfths of the world’s population will be killed during the great
tribulation (Revelation 6:8, Revelation 9:15), because of the wicked
and their refusal to repent.
Jesus said concerning the last days preceding His return,
“Nation shall rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and
there shall be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places. All
these things are the beginning of sorrows” Matthew 24:7-8.
